Exciting 0lympic

I'm still in awed of the magnificent display of Beijing Olympics’ opening. I was not expecting much, mayb just the amount of 'firework' but that was surpassed too. But as I told hubby, we Chinese bein Chinese sure "Si Ai Bin" & really care about "face value" the most... me bein Chinese, although not the real China chinese but still a proud chinese wa, should hav expected it. Until now, I'm still seriously awed. Our famous chinese mentality of 'Bei Sai Su' really produced great result...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The only game that I had watched live was the Badminton Semi-final fight between our Prince, Lee Chong Wei & Koreans' Lee Hyun Il. It was a tough battle that saw a 1-1 tie in the 1st 2 match and the deciding game was "adrenalin pumping" where we cheered, jumped & cursed.
"1 million dude, do your best!!!"
"Public Holiday!!"
It was exciting la...really....
Congratulations to our nation's Badminton team. May we get our first GOLD medal!!!! Lee Chong Wei will be up against Chinese world top-ranked Lin Dan (kekkee... in chinese means zero) in the final. Hopefully Lin dan will get 'lin dan'.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Some1 told me about the freaky weightlifting incident. I regret bein the kay-poh-chi bcoz I searched for the clip & watched it in horror. It was freaking SCARY le!! The weightlifter who lifted his barbell and suddenly, one arm bent over backwards at his elbow, severely dislocating it!!! Then the weightlifter fell to the ground, then can see that the arm is in a very very very scary position.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Some1 told me about the "hen-som" Korean swimmer. This, I did not regret bein the kay-poh-chi & searched for 18 years old Park Tae Hwan. He not only looks good, he got a gold for 400m freestyle... don pray pray... He's like the Koreans version of the super "hensom" Lee Hom.
Don't u agree??
The END. Hav a great weekend!!!
Afraid of 10% and 2 much Law & 0rder
Havin watching the news recently on TV irked me to NO end.
NEWS 1:
The teruk 'slamming' of the current Selangor MB Kh@lid Ibr@him’s suggestion that UiTM be opened up to non-bumiputeras.
Anyway, I don’t get what the big deal is with opening up just 10% to other races.. a mere 10% and they feel like it’s the end of the world for them. R they so afraid of the 10%??!! I think UiTM can keep their Malay only status, as I dont think any other races would want to enter a uni full of people with 'special privileges' & bein a minority...
Then apparently the genius UiTM student r so free they are holding MORE PROTEST.
I thought the Ministry of Higher Education has previously made a statement that students are not supposed to be involved in protests and such? And that if they are found to be involved in street protests, they will be dealt with disciplinary proceedings? but here I saw the student even hav police escort le...
Then then came the news that UiTM will take legal action against Selangor MB for refusing to apologize for proposing the varsity admit non-bumiputra students.
Sue for what? Where is the libel or scandal? Where is the defamation?
It’s only a proposal and already 'cry father cry mother'. As to an apology by Selangor MB, continue to dream on lar.
Then then then our PM BADawi informed us that Selangor MB has NO power to propose that UiTM be opened to non-bumiputras.
The PM is absolutely WRONG to say Selangor MB had NO legal right to raise the issue. Every single M'sian has the right to know how effectively our "blood" money is being spent and to offer reasonable suggestions for improvement.
NEWS 2:
The WORST was the news that the sodomized victim, S@iful SWEARed on the Quran in a MOSQUE that @nwar played with his butt.
Then Terengganu MB congratulate him for his courage and demonstrate that he was telling the truth.
Soooo.... Did S@iful just admit that he's GAY???!!!! It seems to indicate the 'Butt S3X' was voluntarily as in NO context was the word raped or forced was used. I think hor, S@iful has been watching too much Law & Order that he copied the swear on the Bible tactic use by Americans... hehe
Then then then our still alive & kicking ex-PM M@h@thir has dared @nwar to swear on the Quran 2 to prove he is innocent of the sodomy charge he faces.
oh.my.god, what is happening to our country??!! Using the Quran to prove innocence then there's no need for Court of LAW anymore is it, is it??
and there my friend, are the NATIONAL HEADLINES!!
M@L@Ysia B0leh!!
Kuching Festival
the 1st thing that come to mind is FOOD FAIR when Kuching Festival is here... It's always about the food, food, food & more food ain't it!!! It began on 1st August which marked the day Kuching gained its city status 20 years ago... what!!! how can u NOT know??!! and u call urself a kuching lang... tsk tsk... It's kinda empty as we there early ~6.15pm. Hubby was happy to get a table as for the past 2 years we had to ta pau & eat at a nearby coffee shop... te hee...
Craving for Thai food so cepat cepat queue up at Bangkok Thai and ta pau (RM3), Tom Yam Soup, Fried Pineapple Rice (RM2.50) & Pandan Chicken (Rm7.50 for 3 pieces). The last two were BAD, real BAD. Luckily the Tom Yam Soup did not disappoint.
The Satey (grilled chix & beef on a stick) were... I'll b honest, the only thing 'special' was the 'kuah' were super diluted, that's the only thing I remember about the satey... sad...
I manage to get the "Hock Chiew Mee" at Mandarin Restaurant, which by the way I've never heard before this, must b some OLD restaurant bcoz the waiter & waitress were old ah ma & ah pek...
And the thing not to be missed is the "Taiwan Siang Chang" or Taiwan Sausage (RM2 each)... YUMMY!... and extra bonus for this year, the guy standing there attracting the customers is yummy too :)~ shhh ... don tell hubby oooo, he was too bz guarding the table.
If you don mind the Q, the HEAT & the FIGHT for SEATs, go ahead & experienced it soon as the food fair is gonna end on 24th August.
Your C@mera DO NOT M@tter
Some1 asked " If I got a 8 or 9 mp camera, can I make a good pictures with it?"Cameras don't take pictures, photographers do. Cameras are just another artist's tool. It's entirely an artist's eye, patience & skill that makes an image & not his tools. A camera catches ur imagination. No Imagination, no photo, just crap. Just about any camera, regardless of how bad or good it is, can b used to create outstanding photo. The quality of a lens or camera has almost nothing to do with the quality of images produce. The less time & effort u spend worrying about ur equipment the more time & effort u can spend creating great images. The right equipment just makes it easier, faster or more convenient for u to get the desirable results. Buying NEW gear will NOT improve your photography. The camera's only job is to get out of the way of making photographs. Leica, schemeica... The camera doesn't make a bit of difference. All of them can record what u r seeing.
But, you hav to SEE.
Andreas Feininger (French 1905-1999), said " Photographers -- idiots, of which there are so many -- say,"Oh, if only I had a Nikon or a Leica, I could make great photographs" That's the dumbest thing I ever heard in my life. It's nothing but a matter of seeing, thinking, and INTEREST. That's what makes a good photograph. And then rejecting anything that would be bad for the picture. The wrong light, the wrong background, time and so on. Just don't do it, no matter how beautiful the subject is." So why do the artists whose works you admire tend to use fancy, expensive tools if the quality of the works is the same? Simple:
1. Good tools just get out of the way & make it easier to get the desirable results. Lesser tools may take more work.
2 They add durability for people who use these tools hard all day, every day.
3. Advanced users may find some of the minor extra features convenient. These conveniences make the photographer's life easier, but they
don't make the photos any better.
4. There's nothing wrong with the best tools, and if u hav the money too blow why not? Just don't ever start thinking that the fancy tools are what created the work.
Buying a great camera doesn't mean u can create compelling photographs. Good pianists can play on anything and a good photographer can make great images with a disposable camera.
p/s: Get the BEST camera that SUIT u & r willing to spend. Don't worry too much. U can create AMAZING photo with just about any camera....
**
Hubby took these photos and are not altered or enhanced with Photoshop. They're just as they are, straight from the camera, a 4 mp Nikon Coolpix camera (point & shoot).**
Jalan Song ROCKS & Power CUT!!!
What do you think of when Jalan Song is mentioned? Of course food lar. So many hawker stalls are around with plenty of choice. That's why my diet plan can never work!!!
I <3 Sting Ray with Sambal (RM17). I'll let the photo convinced you.I <3 Danny's Honey BBQ Chicken Wing too (No more RM10 for 6, now it's just RM2 per piece). The BBQ Chicken is nicer here than BDC or Tabuan Laru, where the HONEY usage is OVERKILL making it taste too sweet (when I say it's sweet for my taste, it would b diabetic level 4 u oledi lor).
There's a new stall selling fried stuff, irresistible so tried 2 dishs.
Fried Sausage coated with something (top with mayo) RM3. These tasted nice with the mayo.
Fried Seafood (like fish ball, squid ball, Fish cake etc) with sweet & sour sauce (RM3.00). hmmm... not really a big fan of Fish Ball & Cake, so no comment lor...
I'm happily munching away while comforting self that the 0 calories still apply, minimum for 1 week after my birthday.
Then suddenly the power was cut off & the whole area was dark. Luckily the food were already mostly in my tummy.
The hawker owner started to light-up candle for the stalls, then for the tables with customer. Suddenly the place bcome veli the lomantik, from open air to candle-light dinner...
Randomly u will hear people singing happy birthday song...te-hee
Quickly drove back home, as the traffic got kinda crazy with every1 heading out from house to somewhere, anywhere with power I think.
I just could not wait to reach home. The long awaited opportunity to light up the candles from Ikea was finally here.
ah .... feeling cozy & nice at the living room. So lomantik de.
Then felt slightly hot. Then the mosquito came to say hello. Followed by the bugs & insects too came to visit. oh no...getting too crowded.
OMG... SESCO cepat buat kerja lar... MANA ELEKTRIK???!!! &$%@$
Nothing to do without electricity. Tired to sleep but failed bcoz it was too HOT!!! Then the nightmare phone call came.... from BaldBoss as ALL TOOL DOWN. oh my... this is the 1st time evar that POWER to the company was completely cut. Usually it's just power sag or surge but never TOTAL power cut before.
I had NO choice but said YES to BaldBoss request to report duty tomorrow, a SUNDAY!!! arrrrggghh...@#%$*&$%&^&^
Anyway, I thank god that currently it's LOW WIP or else it would be an even BIGGER Disaster!!!
Power finally came back at ~10.30pm. Finally.got.air.con.so.happy.can.die.
Nasi Ayam !!!
Grand celebration on 080808
This year is a special year, as I'm celebrating my birthday on 080808 (a triple 'ong' day).
And the BEST part, the Whole Wide World is celebrating with me today! My "long mountain" is going all out & sponsored everything for this grand celebration.
The Birthday Party, held in the Stadium called the B1rd's N3st, was attended by thousands, and watched by millions more on tv.
Below are some highlights of the nearly 4-hour performance in honor of my birthday on 080808:
Thousands of Drummers performing 4 me...
Acrobats running around the globe...
Performers in traditional costume form swirling patterns
Even L0rd 0f the R1ngs was presented....
The party ended with Spectacular Fireworks Display...I would like to thank 'Long Mountain' for the Grand Celebration on my birthday. Ooooo... thank you for ALL THE WISHES!!
Daddy & Mummy, thank you for being all naughty & horny and ended up with me... hehehe
Food for 080808!!!!
Woke up at 10am ... wohoooooo!!!
NO WORK on a Friday... wohoooooo!!!!
It's MY BIRTHDAY... wohoooooo!!!!!
Happy Birthday 2 me, Happy Birthday 2 me I'm 31 years old young today... Oh NO!!!!!!
Luckily FOOD came to my rescue...
For Brunch (cost saving ma to hav 2 in 1 meal),
Causeway Bay HK Restaurant...
As it's my birthday, Special Breakfast Set with Xtra Special Price....
Set B: Po Lor Bau + Ying Yong = RM3.80 (NP RM 4.80)
Set A: Siu Mai + Har Kau + Cha Sio Pau + Coffee = RM9.80 only (NP: RM 13.60)
So worth it.... haha...actually the breakfast sets are available during the weekdays... not only birthdays lar...
Taking away all my woes... and FOOD shopping for a "picnic" was a treat too. I'm allowed to buy whatever I WISH as I'm a QUEEN for a day. Hubby is rather worried about my sugar intake. I won't be surprise if my blood taste good on pancakes.
I had dinner at My Restaurant. Really it's called My Restaurant & it's my TOP Choice for Western Cuisine as the price is SO reasonable & the FOOD are just AWESOME! Here's the menu:My Coffee Milkshake, ok lar but portion is quite small.
I had Grilled Fish Fillet with Mushroom + 5 Mussels + Garlic Rice + Vegetables
Look at the mussels.. notice the cheese sprinkled on top of the tomato based sauce... It was a GOOD combination!!
Hubby had Bacon & Ribs... A new dish & IT WAS GOOD!!! I totally recommend you to try this dish. The sauce was super-yummylicious. Better than T0ny R0ma in KL.For DESSERT, it's Strawberry Cheesecake.It's inevitable that we all get older, so why not just embrace it!!!
I'm glad & happy to have lived a blessed life. There's nothing more I could ask for at this point in time. I think that the older I get, the closer I get to becoming the "real me". I have less time for bu115h1t & have more appreciation for the little things.
1 meaningful quote that I would like to share: "We need to dwarf our troubles & magnify our blessing - Humrey B. Neil."
That's why I always record down things that make me happy & feel grateful for the people & things in my life (and I like to hau lien too lar ... hahahah even though small & insignificant).
I've learn to see things in a different way...
To see life as something beautiful bcoz life in fact is not too bad at all... except when driving. Driving makes me very unhappy bcoz I curse & scream alot in the car (all those stewpig slow driver that hog the right lane & those that take forever to turn a corner, go die lar), but other than that, life is actually pretty good.
