Recap of 2009 Resolution

How was your 2009?
How did your RESOLUTION hold up?

This entry will be the final entry in my blog for 2009 -->
my attempt at keeping the 2009 New Year Resolution.

To recap, here's my 2009 Resolution:

1. Exercise & keep fit! --> Passed

The new spanking badminton racket is collecting duct in a corner... as I got a Wii now.. hahah.. So I can play ping pong, go kayak, a round of 100 pin bowling, golfing and much more all in the comfort of my own air-con room muahahaha

2. Take better care of my skin --> Passed

hm.... based on friend's comment, my skin condition has improved... so that means I must be doin good lar.

3. Travel to a new place --> Failed

Oh well... with the sudden economy down turn & the sudden increase with my work load during mid year, we hav decided to put on hold all our vacation plan (except celebrating our engagement anniversary in Singapore & my birthday in Damai Puri, both places are not new though)

4. Do or learn something new --> Failed

I was given a chance to try out scuba diving with SexyLips in August but I had to turned it down bcoz of WORK & other issue :~( sigh

5. De clutter my wardrobe room --> Failed

Still a pigsty now.

6. Improve my management skills --> 50% Passed

Everything seems to be related to $$ & I can't seem to get through to my people ** BIG sigh**. But the Project that started in Jun was really FUN but very challenging at the same time as new processes need to be qual & a lot of trouble shooting was required before stabilizing the process of the "super tight schedule" project. Glad was involved, hopefully it will be generating lotsa income for the company next year so that we can hav BONUS!

7. Have more control on my $$ --> 50% pass

We have started to save to pay off our PTPTN (government study loan) which we hav neglected for the past 6 years (the amount of interest charge that accumulated was so SCARY) as the form submitted for auto-deduct from our salary was not implemented & it was hard to find out how to pay the stupid loan from the PTPTN office (a lot of ding ding dong)... I just gave up until I received a warning letter. So now we are trying to pay it off. We hav save & paid like 20K for these 2 years. 70K to go sienzzzzzzz

8. Finish my Ruhi Book 6
--> Failed

Hav been looking for a NEW group to join but WORK has taken so much of my time (i know i know it's an excuse). Will extend this resolution to 2010.

9. Be thankful for what I already have --> Passed

I'm still very happy where I am in my life. I'm glad for all the people in my life that are always there, full of support & love. I thank GOD for blessing my life & for everything.

Summary: Almost 50% of my resolution were more or less considered achieved lar :)
Now to make my 2010 resolution!

Damai Puri Resort & Spa

As a post birthday treat, a mini-get-away was planned. We arrived ~2pm @ Damai Puri Resort & Spa. I stood around for ~15 minutes before it was my turn and it was only 1 person ahead of me. I've never evar took so long in checking-in to a so-called 5 STAR hotel. The staff took quite a while checking my booking. Then after wasting another 10 minutes of my precious time, I was informed the hotel was fully booked yesterday, so we cannot checked in until 3pm if we want a clean room. So I request for a upgraded room, from Superior Rainforest-view room to a Deluxe Sea-view Room... and got it... huuuuurraaaay

While the cleaning lady do their job, we found our self a good spot under these coconut trees...

Armed with 2 bottle of cold Spritz, a pack of cool grapes...
plus some magazine, and we are set.
Let me show you a virtual tour of the place...

Le's us start with the pool. There are 2 swimming pools...

This is the infinity pool.

If I got ji-pa-ban X 20 , I wan this pool at my home

The Jacuzzi area at the end of the swimming pool...

This is the Kid's Pool.... got water slides le but the pool water very shallow, I don dare to try, later my bum-bum pecah...

Yea.. it sux as I got HAZY view of the sea... Why lar people must burn burn burn causing our life to be miserable?

We got to our room by 3pm. This chair caught my attention. It's so cute at a corner. I ask hubby to bring it home with us hahahahah...

The view from my hotel room... We cuci mata for a while but I quickly got bored of it. I was surprise to see so many ang-moh around...
Spectacular view from the balcony... There was an infinity pool in front of our room and then the sea beyond that.

2 chairs for us to lounge around but it was so HOT I quickly closed the glass door & stayed indoor hahaah

Reading lazily on the bed... hubby was super happy as the wifi connection was superb. Even got huge LCD TV in the room.

As a true Asian, typically Chinese, we only go out ~ 5pm when it's not so hot & all the ang moh has re-treated to their room... Walk barefoot by the beach, feeling the sand between my toes, swam in the sea (the water was so warm), listening to the waves...

FOOD! I'll start with something more cheerful... I LOVED BUFFET! The rooms came with 2 complimentary buffet breakfast. Here's a happy me enjoying free food!

ah... croissant with butter yummmm

Now moving on to a more unhappy me... because of the services this hotel staff provide, or the lack of. When we walk into the Restaurant, called Elements, there was no one at the entrance to show us our table. Then we were given the menu, with very limited choices...
We had a hard time getting the waiters attention $%&*^%@! ... after a long time, we finally ordered our food, the waiter said something about bringing the food out at once except for our dessert, I was not paying much attention & just said yes. So after waiting for quite sometime, although not many patrons, the food was served, ALL AT THE SAME TIME! How can appetizer, main course & dessert be served at the same time??!! I asked politely for him to serve the dessert after we finished our meal & he looked puzzled. WTF! The staff are just not educated, totally not equipped for the job.

Our appetizer was Duck Frivosomething (I forgot the name)
RM16. It was very nice. I like it a lot.Exceeded my expectation... nice greensHubby ordered Chicken Teriyaki RM24, for a pan fried sweet si-yiu Chicken with vege & garlic rice. Tasted so-so only lar... nothing special just very expensive.I ordered Fish & Chips RM24. Nothing to rave about, but the tartar sauce was nice. The most value for money dessert, Ice-cream of our choice, Vanilla... with lotsa fruits for only RM4.50. We were only expecting a scoop of ice-cream but instead we got strawberry, guava, mango, kiwi, pineapple, jambu & grapes too. It was fun dipping the fruits in the ice-cream & eating it. I will order this if I ever came back. After dinner, we took a walk... It was very quiet & nobody was in sight, feels as if you have the entire place to yourself! What more can one asks for?
Quite dark ooo...
Overall I enjoyed this trip, as long as I don hav to deal with the staff there. And please la put a door at the shower area to keep the WC area dry. I wouldn't pay the normal rack rate of RM700+ for the room though. It really wasn't worth that much.

My Facialist ROCKS!!!

I had an appointment for a facial treatment at 1.30pm. By 1pm, my facialist, Angeline called me up, asking me to go over earlier as she had prepared some food for me... hehhehe... HOW can I turn it down rite?

A bowl of fried noodle with 3 layer pork & chicken soup with melon awaits me. YUM YUM
Only after my tummy was satisfied, the facial treatment was started... or more like the complaining start, that I don take good enuf care for my face. MOISTURIZER is a MUST! She's very cute always calling me "ang chang mao" aka dirty cat.

I was so relax after the head & shoulder massage. I fell asleep after the mask was put on. And woke up sometime later with this poh piah waiting for me...
Don't I just have the BEST facialist??

Beneath the meat are yummy mashed potatoes. It was a huge portion, 5 big slices of meat le. He had a hard time getting up to go when we finished hehehehah... my tummy happy = me happy!

Happy April Fool!

my fortune cookie for today...
I just wanna move the fat around my tummy... my thigh & arm 2 if possible. I'm not that greedy, no need mountain so big lar.

After breakfast, I found that my pedestal was switched!!! It was the prank that I pulled last year. dang... took me a very long time to find it. Actually I din find it, I threaten & sulk & blackmailed until the prankster gav up & return the pedestal to me. And I vowed in my heart for a memorable REVENGE! and eye for an eye. and that I did... Please admire my work, some say it's the best prank in the company. Everything were wrapped in plastic bag, even the calender. So proud of the creative juice flowing in me even the juniors ask if I got A+ for ARTS hehehehhe
Not only did I double or triple knotted, mostly was quadruple knotted. He took quite a while to untie everything... hehehehehhehe... only best buddy will receive this kind of special treatment le...How was your April Fool Day?
Did you pull a prank?

Happy ppl vs unHappy people

I think that

1 . Happy people are characterized by the belief
that they are able to control their situation
;

whereas

Unhappy people tend to believe that they are a toy of fate.

I believe that I'm able to take hold of my own destiny if I am determined enough. This I have to thank my parent as they've instilled this in me since I was young. When there's a will, there's a way. I was brought up to think that anything was possible.

2 . Happy people are people that bother to count their blessings;

whereas

Unhappy people never seem to bother to make the best out of things.

I believe that everything happens for a reason and bad luck can always be good luck in disguise, just open your eyes & look for it. Another popular phase used at home : BLESSING in DISGUISE. No choice hahahha... I was brought up to be optimistic.

3 . Happy people are smart enough to realize
that the past belongs to the past
;

whereas

Unhappy people tend to mull over grudges or flaws
that are no longer significant
.

I believed that it's your choice to want that happiness.
If your life is so miserable,
blame yourself for moping and wallowing in self pity.

I believe that your eyes are set in front
because you are meant to look forward.

Looking back

Bye bye 2008.

It was a bitter sweet journey that has went by swiftly like the wind, and I have unfortunately grown another year older and hopefully a lot more wise lar hahha..
.

Let's do a customary recap like last year.

In Jan 08, sort of for our 1st wedding anniversary, we took off and headed to Shen Zhen, China:
Then to Hong Kong:
Ended our adventure in Macau. It was the best trip so far which we both enjoyed so much that even before we left we were already planning to come back again. But with our Jan'09 trip canceled by AirAsia, I doubt we will make another trip anytime soon. Plus the economy melt down is starting to scare me. I guess it's time to start SAVING some $$.
Before CNY, I chopped of my hair o_O". It has been a looooooooong while since I had short hair. I thought it would be easier to manage but to me long hair are more manageable... I don't even hav to style it & just let it fall everywhere... like the above photo... but people kept telling me I look younger with short hair. Even so I prayed my hair would b long again soon.In Feb 08, threw a Japanese Theme CNY open house...Pulled the BEST evar APRIL FOOL Prank! It was so much fun.

Then a visit to S'pore in April as a surprise for MIL's birthday!
Virgin Paint Ball Challenge! yup, I destroyed my white t-shirt with pink bullet paint :PMy 1st Kayak Trip! I've promised myself to try something new & exciting. At 1st it was rather a bumper kayak ride and I mastered the kayak acrobat in mere minutes, getting all wet & bruised. ~FUN FUN FUN~Volunteered as a painter (Body Art) at PERKATA charity event. It was a productive way to spent the weekend. It really does give me sense of fulfillment knowing I contributed in someway. In June 08, yet another trip to Genting Highlands. I’ve been there like 48745650 time in my life, but surprisingly, I never get bored of those trips. What's not to like? It's cooling & breezy. A stop at KL before attending my best friend, Helena's wedding in Melaka. Top in my itineraries are window shopping at those NEW mall mushrooming in KL.

Got my 1st LBD!! I just realise that if I take pictures into the mirror I look slimmer :) bcoz in all the pictures I took at friend's wedding, I look like a big elephant.
haha... another trip to S'pore, #2 trip this year. Bought & haul back those IKEA stuff. Why Kuching NO IKEA 1??!! sigh...

Celebrated Grandpa's 80th birthday... It was a big gathering of all his children & grandchildren & great-grandchildren. But then my grandpa’s death hit unexpectedly after what looks like a winning battle against his illness. I miss you kong kong. Life is just not fair. It was also a reminder to cherish my loved ones.

A birthday outing to Damai Beach on 080808.In September, my blog turned 1! super yay!

In October, for the 1st time ever I organized a
Fund Raising Campaign. RM515.83 was raised for Habitat for Humanity(HfH). I cannot give enough thanks for all your generous contribution.

In November, a Vacation in Bali as a 30th birthday gift for hubby...
enjoyed the trip tremendously...
A visit to S'pore for the Christmas lights, 3rd trip of the year to the buzzling city. We were so captivated that it motivated us to decorate our own home too. 1st time sprucing up the our home with Christmas bling. Our 1st Turkey purchase & organizing a Christmas Lunch at home...Our Christmas gift to each other, a NETBOOK, the current craze. I'm in love. It's so sexy & slick & this baby is extremely portable and convenient.
2008 was a good year and hopefully 2009 will be GREAT too.

Here’s wishing you all many success in 2009 and hope it will be filled with joy, peace and love.

Happy New Year, my friends!
