Gui Lin Day 1 (part 1)

Yay! Thank almighty god we have touch down at Gui Lin Airport safely around noon. Lil prince had a good rest, to ensure he have enough energy to explore Gui Lin :)

We are using private group tour, means that the guide will only be taking care of us and no outsider will be joining us.
 Gui Lin Airport
It's summer in China so the weather is same as Kuching, HOT!
Changing out from the pajama. Grandpa is Lil Prince best friend.
Pretty toll booth..
Our hotel... I forgot the name. It's 3 star. Clean and big room.
I breastfed Alexander whenever he wants it. Just use a shawl and tada... a mobile milk source for the lil Prince.
Where's my food?
Even after I kept lil prince head in the correct direction...
Simple lunch at a restaurant... Standard oriental dishes.

While having our lunch, got Artsy stuff like this decorative fan on sale. Paintings too. And Calligraphy.
After the simple but satisfying lunch, we went for a walk at a nice garden. Stay tune.

Family trip to Gui Lin, China

heh... the title gave it all away... YES! We are heading to Tiong Kok. Having some anxious feeling as we are always hearing scary stories from people that travel to China.

Lil prince is up and excited to be in an airplane again!
 What a view!
This is mummy's breakfast... had to sneakily bring it into the plane hehehhe
 Daddy's breakfast, Nasi Lemak! YUMssss!
Alexander's breakfast is "neng neng" fresh from mummy's (.)(.) Milk bottle not needed. Don't need to get warm water. No need to wash the bottles. Breastfeeding is the way to go. It really makes life easier.
Yikes! That plastic bag was given to seal away lil Prince's diaper
We were lucky the flight was not full so the lil Prince can rest comfortably.
Oh my precious boy, mummy is really proud of you, being such a good boy. Mummy promise to bring you everywhere that mummy visit.

The Venetian Macau

weeeeeeeeeeee... I've step foot into the world's 2nd largest building: The Venetian.

This is the entrance, with this golden globe art thingy with naked women & lions: The corridor leading to the Casino (photo on the left below), just look at the ceiling. I was & still is awed at the scale of the building & the meticulous attention to detail. Photo on the right below, look up for the blue skies. There's no need for sunglasses, coz u r still indoors. Brilliant concept.
Frescoes that conjure images of Michelangelo's masterful Sistine Chapel beautify the ceilings. The escalators leading to the casino on the lower level. It's HUGE the place!!! Thick, colorful carpets & polished marble cover the floors. Statues, flowers & ad0rnments 0rnament the walls & 0pen spaces. The Grand Canal, which is the shopping esplanade has HUNDREDS of shops, set within a vibrantly re-created Venetian building. oh my sky, all this are indoors. Incredible!!Singing gondoliers transport young lovers & rich tourist but not KIAM SIAP tourist like me because each ride cost RM50~60. The person who is rolling the gondola is a real Italian, speaks and sing Italian. They sing pretty well 2.
Arch bridges permit crossing form 1 side of the canal to the other & squares, the greatest bein St. Mark's provide suitable area to gape at the surreal surroundings.
Do you have a feeling of being in Europe?Time for food, so we headed for The Venetian Macao’s Festivita Food C0urt – the perfect place to grab a bite in between shopping or gambling. To find it, just listen f0r the sound of the g0nd0liers singing, and follow the Grand Canal down towards the direction of the Great Hall. More than 20 big brand names in fast, mid-priced food offering almost every cuisine under the sun - or in this case, the blue sky ....kekeke... Price is around 30-60MOB.

This Japanese Outlet immediately grab Hubby's attention, as it's named NARUTO. I decided to walk around 1st but in the end I ordered Unagi from the same shop. Guess what hubby ordered?? hahaha ...it was the Naruto Ramen. Noticed the sign???
The view of the foodcourt:
There r some street performers thrown in for our entertainment. Like here it's the freaks on stilt:And also these human statues... reminded me of the trip to Rome... ah... sweet memories....Luck was not on our side that day, cutting short our loss by getting out of the casino ASAP. Here's the night view from the staircase towards the entrance: I'll end the post with the imposing exterior view of The Venetian:
Macau, I'll be back soon. There's so much more that I've not experienced....

Macau Day 1 & 2 (Jan'08)

Once our bag are thrown into the hotel room, we straight away started to explore the "OLD Street of Macau" that begin from our hotel doorstep (ok lar... a block down the road lor):
The daily dose of "Chen Chu Nai Cha". Got few varieties, I likey the small tiny 'Chen Chu' aka black pearl, but unfortunately Kuching dun have:
The famous Portuguese Tart, cost MOP 6.oo (~RM3), rather expensive lei for 1 small tart:
I lov lov lov the soft peanut candies, here the "live" demonstration on how the candies are made & FREE Tasting too ... kekekeke:A lot of stalls here are selling these heavenly BBQ meat, they insist that you taste their product. My dinner consist of mostly these meat, that comes in a lot of varieties like garlic, chili, honey & pepper flavor using pork, beef, ostrich, wild boar, etc ... muahahahhaha:The ang ang CNY decoration in town (on the left) & the road side "lok lok" that is dipped in kari sauce, quite tasty (on the right):As we walk on following the crowd, we've reach Senado Square, with it's pavement of wave patterned stones & globular fountain...At the square, admired the baroque facade of the Santa Casa da Misericordia, the oldest European charity on China. The street of Macau in daytime:Reached the main square, Senado Square, with it's Portuguese pavement of wave-patterned stones. The yellow building on the right is St. Dominic Church:
The interior of the churches that we visited, very serene & beautiful:
Spotted a "mata" chia on the road side:
The favorite mode of transport on this small island:
On the grand staircase leading to the Ruins of St. Paul: St. Paul or more appropriately what's left of it after the fire in 1835:Admired the carving on the stone facade:www.mamalover.com gathering??!! o_O"Enjoying the view with a new naked friend & her pet dog (eeeer... or cat or lion lor):
Then we climb up a hill beside St. Paul to Mount Fortress:It's quite high up so you can get a glimpse of the city of Macau from here:Casa de Lou Kau, built in 1889, home of Lou Kau, a prominent Chinese merchant. This is a 2 storey traditional grey brick courtyard house with the architectural characteristic of a typical Chinese residential building, I love the concept:
More non-halal food that's hanging for tourist like me to ogle at:
This is taken in front of St. Anthony's Church:
Cross the road from the church & we reach Camoes Garden. The view after climbing up the unique stairway on the above photo on the left:
Me taking advantage of the "public gym" at the garden:
Then we waited at the bus stop outside of the garden to The Venetian. Will dedicated a whole post to The Venetian later on.

Macau
is a city where eastern and western influences hav met & continue to co-exist in harmony. Truly a blend of cultures, people, aromas, flavors & styles, unique characteristic.
