I got invited to a wedding reception on Saturday night...
The groom was my childhood fren & a neighbor from Sri Aman.

Had a opportunity to chit chat with him while his bride was changing.

Groom: So, any babies yet?
Me: NOooo. Not yet. How about you??
Groom: hmmm.... well not yet, but I'll work hard tonight.
Me: **awkward**

How the hell did I end up asking such a clever question on their wedding day? **slap self**

Fireworks

For me, the most awaited moment for CNY is during the strike of midnight of Niu Year eve when fireworks display kick start by the generous people of Kuching.
This will b the 1st year our family is not burning any money (grandma forbid due to grandpa passing recently). At 1st we watched the fireworks at our balcony
but the fireworks were too far away for us to enjoy.

That's when I suggested to hubby we count down at a special place.

I'll just posted up the photo unedited as I'm lazy to write anything.

Kuching lang should know where this was taken. My idea was not original at all as it was full house that night at the park. So many people with camera with the best spot all taken up already.

Spring Cleaning & getting ready for CNY!

Friday:

Right after dinner, we went shopping for CNY stuff at tHe Spring! Wow... the place is really RED with lotsa sakura. Pretty. Tasted some FREE butter & almond cookies and bak poh.

Parkson was offering 5x bonus link points le... time to shop shop shop...

Hubby went to the car maintenance section... getting some new cloth to wax his car. He just got his car POLISH... some shit about special instrument used that giv the car brialliance shine ... but at a cost of RM150... man! I really dun understand man... and touch up on a tiny dot of paint peeled due to flying pebbles RM160 and the scratched of right side car door (some asshole banged door) RM150... ngai ti! He will say the same thing if I go for massage & facial... so better just keep quiet.I got some paper plate & stuff... was itching to get another set of tea pot... and more cute bowls. I was considering to get the wok from MAXIM that's suitable for Induction cooker at RM388 (got 20% discount) but the damn sales girl like PMS like that... I ask question she answered & gave me shit face and just walk away... then I went to search for her and told her I want to purchase a new set that's still in the box, she just said "Takde". I really wan2 slap her oledi & decided not to buy anymore. To the salesgirl:"I hope u get fired soon, b$%ch!"

Then went Tai Kiong. Wa lau eh... like stuff free wan lo, so many people. I grab Twisties (miss it so much) & Kjeldsens Butter cookies (lotsa those). Hubby grabbed Roasted Macademia Nuts & Coffee. The total bill was less than RM100 but we got a RM10 voucher... wohoooo!!! so worth it!

On the way home, this car just crack me upSaturday:

Had breakfast at Ang Cheng Ho near 100% store
My lips is still chapped, had to watch hubby eat LAKSA again... damn my ko lo mee sucks. Bo pien.. I wanna b sui sui on CNY mar... so no spicy & belacan food for 1 freaking week already... torture I tell you...

CNY shopping at 100% Discount Store... loved shopping there... got Dahfa Jiu Hu, hubby fav & other useless but cool stuff... hehehe

Last week were Green Gallery, 688 & Super Save... stuff not so cheap lor... those red fire cracker that made noise cost RM100 to RM200. Hubby havin some funI wish my weekend were filled with these....
But instead I had to take down the curtains & wash them, vacuum the place, clean the kitchen, sweep the floor, polish the leather seat, etc... damn tired. Hubby wan2 help but he keep getting in my way, ended I ask him to GET LOST! Ngai ti... I think that was his plan.

High tea was those awesome Cream Buns from JD bakery. And a movie called Max Payne.

At dinner I was rewarded with this!
The Prosperity Burger at McD... but NO BEEF! Why? Why Kuching outlet never hav beef 1? Had to settle for Chicken lor... sigh and it cost RM15 per set. Must be prosperous then can eat.
On the way home, stop by OneTJ for stuff & there was chinese instruments performance by kids. Nice sound from that "Qing" (dunno what it's called). We went from shop to shop & ask the price for the wireless g adapter. As usual all the store dun hav LinkSys, so ended with D-Link. The cheapest was Intercom with a price difference of RM19 from 3E. Awesome. Save RM19 just by visiting a few stores. Hoping more computer shop will open here so that they will be more competitive.

Sunday:

Had breakfast at Mitsu Tea house at BDC area. The place is spacious & clean.
Canton Kueh Tiau RM5, looks appetizing but according to hubby: "We r not coming back here rite?"
My Rice Noddle Prawn Soup RM6 with kiam chai 3/5, not flavorful enuf but still acceptable.
Then we went shopping again... Hubby is really really excited about CNY. He offered to go UNACO (Tabuan Laru) this time. Then we also went to the nearby shop that sells cheap CHINA MADE stuff like Super BS & Dragon something. Bought those"Sui Xien Hua" like the ones we saw in Hong Kong... hubby picked 3. The CNY song playing in the stores just made the whole place more cheerful. Hubby can sing along too hehehe...

Then it was more house cleaning... sigh... I dun understand why hubby don like the RM80/day maid to come & clean the house. But at least today he really tried to help and put up the curtain & vacuumed the place & got rid of the spider web.

Then I watched Son of Rambow... hahah... quite cute the show. Funny. Rating 7/10 in IMDb.

Then it was dinner time. We went to C121, a new makan place next to Lau Lee at Stutong area. The name very weird le, See One, Do One I heard lar. But C121??!! Means goin steady hia as in only can see one to one? Then suddenly it hit me, it's supposed to be CI2I, See Eye to Eye... whatcha think?

We sat outside where there was bamboo plants next to us. It was windy. Nice environment. And the tables are placed far apart... goodie
Wow... drinks are so freaking expensive nowadays. RM3.50 for Lime Juice & Barley Drink. The other day, Expert was charging RM1.70 for teh c ... ngai ti... almost can buy ko lo mee oledi. We had Taiwanese Beef Stew Noodles RM5. Rating: 3/5 as I prefer raw beef like the ones use at Lam's Place.
While eating, there were some kids nearby practicing lion dance on stilts. The sound of the drum, tung tung chiang was making hubby all excited. Me? I dun like watching them as they are high up there & there was no protective layer on the floor in case they fall... practise means got possiblity fall down 1 mar. Why no safety precautions one?
Thank god the actors are back from their holiday. I finished Grey's anatomy, CSI, Supernatural & Gossip Girl

The weekend flew by in an blink of an eye but at least the house is half clean oledi, quite an accomplishment.

Looking forward to my massage session... half day leave tomolo... wohoooo....My reward for cleaning the house... ah...
SPA treatment wait for me!

AngelEng Farewell!

we had another round of farewell gathering for AngelEng, but this time only us girls. This will be her last week here in Kuching. We decided to splurge slightly and went to Rakutei Japanese Restaurant, Crown Square for the Japanese Buffet.

The CNY decoration at the entrance of Crown Square.
My Fav, Unagi with Teriyaki Sauce... 3 serving of this le
The Beef with Teriyaki Sauce, we ordered like 3 of this 2 heheehe...The ambient at the restaurant is pretty good. Cozy lighting. Calm & quiet as there was only another customer there. PRAWN with bread crumps!!! YUM!! The Tempura Ebi was good too, ordered 4 sets & finished in no time.
SASHIMI!!! 2 orders of these... I could not just order the Salmon meat only, it come as a set & I dislike raw squid & tuna too. sigh... wan2 get more of these but there was a warning at the menu that 100g of wasted food will be charge accordingly.
My solution --> order Salmon Nigiri ~5 sets.... muahahhaahhAHAHA... but the rice was making me very FULL very FAST... I absolutely LOVED this to bits but AngelEng only had 1 as she never eat raw fish before.
The seasoned tako...Fish Roe... unfortunately NO BIG ASS ones...The girls in action... only 2 hours nia, go go GO! Chomp!Pheeew wiit!!! Leng lui!!!
wah... so many leng lui...
Fried Udon... GOOD. MUST TRY. THe crunchy bits are really yummy but I dunno what it is lar...
The Squid in Butter Sauce, got 2 sets, nicely done... I forgot to capture those heavenly Oyster in Teriyaki (2 sets) & another set in Butter Sauce. For me, I likey the 1 in teriyaki sauce. But AngelEng prefer the butter sauce, not that salty.
The dessert was fresh fruit, ice-cream & this mo-chi... I did not capture all the food ordered... all together we ordered like 35 sets of serving, RM265 for 5 pax.
I suggested a group photo infront of this BIG poster in the restaurant since nobody around... so hav freedom to do whatever we want... not pai seh mar.4 happy gals on the street in Tokyo in harsh lighting. l-r, GossipGirl, SexyBum, CutieMummy & AngelEng.in softer lighting...hmmppp... I'm the oldest among the group. Really envy those siu mui mui...AngelEng playing with the camera while I settled the bill handled by a really sloooooooooooooooooooow cashier.Still hungry after the buffet... NOT If you are a big eater, the buffet is for you!
