Resolution for 2009

This entry I guess will be the final entry in my blog for 2008. My 1st attempt at making a New Year Resolution.

1. Exercise & keep fit!

I would loved to lose some weight & that stubborn love handles. But fat chance of me losing any weight. I would be happy to maintain my current weight and try to exercise more. I've stop walking around my apartment after the 3rd attempt as it is always raining *cough*excuse*cough*. So I've bought a new spanking badminton racket for those weekly sweat sessions, hopefully I can keep it up.
2. Take better care of my skin.

I've been neglecting my skin care regime, too lazy although spent $$ for the product but seldom use. I noticed the skin around my eyes are in bad shape. Small wrinkles can be seen due to dryness of the skin. OMG! is that pigmentation??!! Dang, getting old is so ma-fan! So I've start the year with these NEW purchase and promise myself to used it daily. **brain ah, pls remember hor**

3. Travel to a new place

It does not have to be some far. For the coming year, I'll b supporting VISIT MALAYSIA Year as u know, economy not good lar, must save some $. It can be somewhere near like Borneo Highland & Mulu.

4. Do or learn something new

Anything out of the ordinary. I might just take up scuba diving. I've not decide it yet as it seems like an expensive hobby to take up & there are not good diving spot near Kuching. Still thinking...

5. De clutter my wardrobe room

It's urgent!! It looks like a pigsty now. Kids can get lost in there, heck even I can get lost in the super big mess! MUST De-CLUTTER ASAP.

6. Improve my management skills

As I was promoted recently & more shit responsibility are on my shoulder now. Supervising a group of technicians, is TOUGH. I need to learn to handle difficult situation. I need to improve my management skills. Motivate myself, and others in my team. HELP!

7. Have more control on my $$

In the past, so much money wasted on unnecessary stuff. Always buying stuff on a whim. CC statement of $$ spent at Ta Kiong & Cold Storage amount to RM2+++ (!!!) for this year alone and I don't cook -_-". I need to control my JUNK FOOD BUYING SPREE. MUST Start saving monthly with hubby.

8. Finish my Book 6

Try not to skip those weekly devotional meeting & continue with my "Reading Study". I did not finished Book 6 and hopefully I can join a new group to start all over again and finished it.

9. Be thankful for what I already have

Appreciate what is already in my life & don't bitch about things that are out of reach. Need to remind self to never take things for granted. Must make time & have more quality family time.
I never realize the staircase way in my apartment was a sight to behold.
What are your resolutions for 2009?

p/s: Hubby is so sick he skip dinner and headed straight to bed, poor baby. I'm spending my New Year count down in my room reading a book. yea, I love my life!

Kenny Rogers Roaster

Had dinner at Kenny Rogers Roaster, located at tHe Spring outlet. The last I had was at Sarawak Plaza, but sudah tutup kedai long time ago.

KRR is a mid-casual dining restaurant with Roast Chicken as it's main core item complemented by a rich variety of hot & cold side dished. We both had the signature roasted chicken… specifically the Kenny’s Quarter Meal, a wholesome ¼ chicken, rotisserie-roasted to perfection. Then we got to choose 3 hot or cold side dishes from these great selections!
We each also get to choose a Kenny’s Home-made Muffin, either Vanilla, Chocolate or Banana. It should be obvious what I chose rite?

The Hot Caramel RM6.50 for hubby was very sweet. And it got too sweet once it was cold. Mine was Mango Juice RM5.90.

Hubby's selection of side dishes: Savoury Rice (great), Garden Pasta Salad (good) and Mashed Potato & Gravy (bad). My selection of side dishes: Potato Salad, Macaroni & Cheese and fresh fruit salad. All were good.Listened to Kenny Roger's song while we enjoyed our meal. The food looks really good but I am not really into KRR. But I am okay with the food... I still prefer finger licking good chicken though... hehe...

What really turn me off is this...

I always "bei kam guan" pay those service charge, 10% le... RM7 can buy me another drink lor. I think those service charge should be banned. They are paid to serve us customer, or they should just calculate it into the price of the dish. I always feel cheated when I see those TAX or CHARGE word.

Christmas Gift!

After filtering through the long Christmas Wish List for both of us, a final decision has been made. I think the choice we made was the best. As hubby put it, we need to play our part to help stimulate the economy during this critical moment of down turn. As a conscientious consumer, we started with a thorough research to pick the best model (hubby's duty). Then to compare price between the vendors (my duty)...

We kicked start our window shop here...
Can you recognize the place? Yup it's in Saberkas. The price comparison was useless as the price were same at ALL shops. So we can get it anywhere. no difference.Hubby decided to show his support for One TJ. The shop we chose is the 1 that we frequently passed-by with the BIG RED signboard "Compuway" on the 1st floor.
Hubby even jokingly ask if I wanted it in PINK color?!!Testing testing! Just 2 minutes in the shop and we were already paying for the stuff. This is what we call an "educated buy".Our proud purchase, a mini notebook or netbook.
The Acer Aspire 1 specifications:Our present under the Christmas tree... hehehe
It's so small in size... just what I want. And glossy white exterior seems to exude so much more fun.It came with a leather-like cover too...
6-cell batteries (longer lasting life)
The keyboard is decently sized, firm and easy to use.Free gift : Mouse, Notebook Cooling Pad, Card Reader, Keybpard Protector & Notebook Filter.Hubby checking out the new baby...I loved it, it's small, portable & functional.

p/s: Credit card accepted without any extra charge!

Some fruits around the house so that guest can just eat them whenever they 1, there were seedless grapes, small oranges, sharon fruit & nectarine.Esther posing for photos!

Soup with Garlic Bread, Mashed Potato, Salad, Lamb Shank & Turkey.
Don't worry, that's only 1/3 of the lamb shank. More in the kitchen, just that dining table was too small for everything to be in there.
Me carving the turkey... Actually Hubby's Aunt did it, my job was only to open the Turkey Cranberry & Giblets Sauce container. After a while, another Aunt & Uncle arrived with their 2 sons & partners.SIL enjoying the turkey... and the red wine really made her face RED later on.Ah... tinggal carcass saja... Hilton has again work their magic & did not disappoint. The turkey was tender and full of flavor. I'm glad hubby has insisted on getting the turkey only from Hilton.

Kawaiiiiiii Elijah a star among the guest!Time for dessert! Christmas Log Cake from Hilton too.Esther still wondering whether the cake is real or just for decoration? With Esther before the log cake cutting! Those X-mas decor on the cake can be eaten, just sugar & coloring. The cake was surprisingly good even though I'm not fond of fruit cake. The cream were nice & it was not too sweet. Granddad even got 2nd serving of the cake.Santa Claus!Where's SANTA??!!
Every1 was too full to continue with this Pudding + Ice-cream dessert. Some has adjourned to the entertainment room for the preview of "Dark Knight" in HD. Some just played with Elijah. Some chatted away while doin the dishes **phewww... i hate doin dishes**
