It's Dinner Time!!
Wen & Jas was supposed to join us but they had a wedding to attend, what a bummer :P
They recommended this place: Elmar's in the Valley
Poor Alexander exhausted his batteries at the Wildlife Park trying to make friend with all the animals there. He took a nap once he got comfortable in the baby car seat, while hubby drove to our next destination.
Some claimed this cosy restaurant serves the best German Food in Perth. Going to Australia eating German Food hahah
Alexander was still sleeping so we took our time and took a walk at the vast open space at the back of the restaurant. Enjoying the sunset...
... at a two acre beer garden
... waiting for Alexander to wake up
Finally Alexander woke up and we took our seats at the restaurant. Hubby decided to try their beer too. How can one not try German beer when visiting the brewery.
Hubby chose Over Draft Alt 4.8% alc, a classic Dusseldorf style Alt Bier, brewed with a blend of dark roasted malts, which in turn contribute to the light copper colour of this beer. Combined with Ale yeast this beer has a rich fruit flavours and an assertively hoppy and dry finish (I have no clue what I just wrote, just cut & paste from the website menu hahaha)
BBQ plate AUD36.90 Elmar's Famous Kassler Chop, Coarse Bratwurst and a House Marinated Chicken Drumstick, on Potato Skins with Sweet Chilli Sauce, Sour Cream and Gardens Greens. Loved the Kassler Chop, flavorful. Bratwurst was delish. The drumstick as just so-so but it was soft and tender.
Sampler plate AUD21.90. A bit of everything heheh. The dips were awesome.
I manage to order dishes without German Sauerkraut which I totally don't get, tasted like something went bad, went badly bad.
Alexander loved the bratwurst (sausages)...
Nice tasting olives... before this, I was not really into olives, but they have opened my eyes (or rather my taste buds). Oh and did I mentioned that there's great live music.
The Bratwurst was so delicious I had to buy some home for Wendy and Jason since they missed it. We walked to
their 'small goods' section to grab some sausages before we pay the
bill. So convenient. These sausages were very affordable and cooking
them at home will surely make them happy, I know I would.
Total damage: AUD85 (~RM265) including some small goods & souvenirs
