As we still have some time before dinner, checked-in to Fremantle Prison! No
entrance fee... unless you join the guided tour... heard that the night
tour is pretty good. Maybe next trip when Alexander is abit older and
can appreciate it
Fremantle Prison is one of Western Australia’s
premier tourist attractions and the only World Heritage listed building
in the State.
We
were pretty late reaching the prison, the night tour would be too late
as we had dinner plans with Wendy and Jason, our host in Perth. Bear in
mind, you won't see anything beyond the entry courtyard and the
tiny visitors' centre unless you do one of the 75 min tours.
But
we made the most out of this visit... we explore all the rooms that's
filled with interesting fact and information. Some even got a prisoner
visiting booth. Visiting hours is over... c ya next time!

A typical prison cell... with a very small window
The Prison was built by convicts themselves in the 1850s and was used
as a place of incarceration for almost 140 years.
The gloomy and scary looking stairs that lead down to the prison cell
Bye bye Prison!
A fierce looking Warden guarding the place!
Alexander is at a stage where he loved picking up sticks and leaves from the ground
