Genting Highland (Jun'08)

Genting Highland is till as lively & colorful as it used to be. That's why I like goin there. But lotsa people complaint about the food bein expensive, the smokey feeling... I kinda block all these away with all the colorful light & cool breeze... wah song ar... I likey. Not much changes in 2 years except that there are more shopping outlets... hubby scream when we went pass yet another store selling shoes... muhahaha... poor hubby had to tag along while I browse...
The gondola ride with fake rower & no singing,
ahhh... I miss The Venetian, Macau.
The Italian restaurant, Ristorante Torcello situated over the bridge is quite nice. The pasta & pizza, the roasted meat... ah... yummy... The same old same old Outdoor Theme Park:
The complementary 1 free game of Bowling (just present the hotel passbook), only need to rent the RM3 shoe. The 3D ride that was just chair moving & wind blowing & water spraying & tell u the truth, I din quite like it... I skip it this year. For this year, I've book a magic show entitled DRE@MZ, but the promised of a great night entertainment by 2 great illusionists was a disappointment. I was only in awe of the kids in acrobats, they were good. Other than that, the show has no kick at all.We watch movies at cinema only in Genting... it's kinda our ritual... we would book the premier seats... lotsa leg room & nobody irritating seating in front... usually we r alone at that section bcoz it's more expensive... and it comes with Popcorn, Soft drink & Chocolate & total privacy. For this trip we watch Indi@n@ J0nes & the Cryst@l Skull. It was a good movie, I've always loved Indy.

Some of my more memorable visits to Genting in the past:

1. Our Valentines Celebration with a Dinner in the Clouds that we can't afford ... hahaha... were still student then... thank you daddy & mummy for the Credit Card...

2. Hubby's 72th birthday at Genting, Theme Park Entrance FOC courtesy of uncle Lim:
3. My 92nd birthday celebration. And it was here that I took a photo of my dream car, the RX8 & I was salivating all over it. I'm really grateful that my dream came true.4. 2005 New Year Celebration at Genting's Starbucks...p/s: I miss hubby's long hair...
5. Beyond's last concert in Malaysia that was just AWESOME although it was rather short, only 1 hour plus duration. They really are GREAT!!!6. The International Lion Dance Competition that really make my heart pumping fast & I had to close my eyes sometimes & peep when they jump so high up on the tiang-tiang:7. Ripley's believe it or not was a great explore, saw a lot of weird & funny stuff:
8. The magic show, MYSTERIA, was FANTASTIC, I loved it. Which prompt my 2nd return for another magic show. and lastly, the exciting cable car ride...I'll always b back for more...

what the tut!!!

Let me show you my neighbor's great skill in parking her car:
really, that's her best parking skill, as normally she can't even be in the box.

Friday the 13th Opening

C0ld St0rage is here in KUCHING!!!
This chain supermarket is everywhere in S'pore.

I was there after getting off work(~6.30pm), and parking space was not an issue (under ground car park) as it was not crowded as I've expected on an opening day. Hubby was more excited as he was already there during lunch break... kia su... so he was familiar with the place. Green Height Mall is very small compared to the current trend of the bigger the better (like the Spring). But here, they wanna make shopping cozy & special 4 the people living nearby I think. It's selling mostly imported stuff = more expensive lar, catering for middle to higher income group people who don't mind paying more for a wide range of imported groceries and superior quality fresh produce, such as fruits, vegetables and meat.I walk around & got some of the Opening Promotional stuff (or else it would b too expensive for me to buy) on offer & grab mostly junk food but the 10 cents items were all gone already. As the trolley was filled to the brim, off we Q (quite long le) to pay for the stuff. A lot of people came after dinner I think as the supermarket suddenly was filled up with people mountain people sea.
And we got RM10 voucher for spending more than RM100. But I did not know about the lucky draw for Proton PERSONA with RM20 purchase to qualify... dang. Most of the shop lots on the 1st floor are still empty. Upper floor don't have any stores open yet.

Dessert has an outlet there too. I have not tried it yet. Is it good??

crazy 4 donuts

In the past, Dunkin’ Donuts (DD) immediately comes to my mind when I think of donuts. I'll sure get some when I'm in KL. But recently a few new outlets has been mushrooming around KL & most recently Kuching too with the opening of Big Apple Donuts (BAD).

It has been a year since I had DD so I decided to refresh my lack of memory by getting half a dozen of it at KL Central. I got the Chocolate, Pineapple, Strawberry, Banana, Vanilla & Peanut butter
flavor.
After the 1st bite then I remembered why I always got the mini donuts (MUNCHKINS) at DD, bcoz it’s always too sweet with the JAM!!! So when it’s mini, the impact is less (I meant the sweetness). It’s still too sweet & I rather have fresh cream over jam anytime. Now that I had tasted BA, I realized that DD are heavier in texture & rather dry. BAD looks prettier 2. Nowadays, rarely can c people lining up to buy donuts at DD. But things are different at BAD & the other competitor, J.C0! People are willing to queue up & wait just so they can have a few bites of these yummilicious d0nuts!
The Q at BAD, Low Yat Plaza was thankfully short. One glance & I noticed that only 1 type of donut is not available in Kuching. It's called the Langkiwi!! (the top left green colored 1)
Aaahhh... many times better than DD!! Compared to DD, the texture of the BAD is so smooth and fluffy!! Heavenly!!!

By the way, if you are wondering how much 1 doughnut costs in KL, it's RM2. Meanwhile 1/2 dozen is RM9.50...dang!!! I pay RM12.00 for 1/2 dozen in Kuching, that's an extra of RM2.50... hhhmmpphhh

I wanted to try the famous J.Co donuts. At Pavilion, I can smell the donuts from faaaaaar away... and was excited bcoz J.Co is so popular now & the talk of the town & NOT available in Kuching. But looking at the ridiculous queue formed outside of the shop made me really disappointed.

With a heavy heart, I turned around without looking back & feeling REALLY REALLY SAD for not being able to try those IRRESISTIBLE looking donuts. The Donuts look "similar" to BAD though, even in the layout of the shop 2. Ah.. well, at least I'll have another reason to go back to KL next time! and Hubby was saying that CHEAP flights are always knocking at our door.

As I hav not taste J.Co, I'm curious which is better?
J.Co or Big Apple?

My sis-in-law recommended to try Krispy Kreme Doughnuts (KK) while I was in Australia. She claimed that KK is the best she ever tried. After having a bite, totally agreed with her at that time. It was more than 2 years ago. I wanna refresh my memory of those heavenly donuts too!!! But sadly, KK is not available in M'sia.

Summary : Big Apple Donuts are so yummilicious that you’ll never touch another DD.

Do u agree with me?? What's ur favourite flavour??

as seen on : L0st

What a GREAT DEAL!!!
McF@rlane T0ys Figurine featuring L0ST series 2 characters were on SALE at Takashimaya with HUGE discounts ... weeeeeeeeeee......
I wanna get more but hubby said just choose 1 as it was bulky.

Guess who I choose from the cast of L0ST? To narrow it down, only the 4 persons in the red circle were available. Fast fast guess...
Yup ... S@wyer da MAN!!!The McF@rlane L0st Action Figures are absolutely great! Inspired by Season 1, Ep 20, "B0rn to Run", S@wyer stands on the doomed raft he helped to build.
A life like replica of the character!! It even includes a full-scale replica of S@wyer's letter
(a never-mailed letter he wrote as a child addressed to "Mr. S@wyer," muahaha... only those that followed the show would know what this meant). and he can even talk! I like this clip (taken from show) the most:
"There are nicer ways to wake a man up, Freckles."

the only complaint :
Why can't they make the
S@wyer figurine shirtless??
A must for all L0st fans!

My 1st LBD

After 3 decades (oh my) on this planet,
I’ve finally bought my 1st not so little LBD (Little Black Dress).

1 more strike on the LIST (it's a GIRL thing).
Got it at The Gardens, KL.

When I saw the size for me was XS,
was so HAPPY I jump for JOY:

It has been ages since I fit into anything size XS...
that's the UPSIDE of buying European made dress... hehehehe
so that I can continue to be SOAKED in DENIAL regarding the weight issue

I really miss the size XS... hai... sob sob...
gaining 10 kg in less than 4 years is not an easy task I tell u, not every1 can do it.
