S'pore Vacation 15-20th Apr 08

Sien ... why my holiday time always fly by so faaaaast!!!
6 days in S'pore doin nothing but eat & sleep (mostly) plus sightseeing & shopping on the side.

15th Apr is mum-in-law birthday & also our 2nd Engagement anniversary. Combo celebration hehehe...

To spend less money on transport, this time we took bus from Senai Airport to S'pore MRT station. Need to save as much as possible to fund my shopping :P Surprisingly it was very convenient as we brought almost empty backpack so hopping on & off bus for immigration was easy peassy.

Nothing much to do in S'pore except EAT EAT EAT.
Dinner at Swensens, started with creamy salmon soup. The drink Mango Frizz was complimentary.

Both of us tried the crab dishes, Chili Crab Pasta & Spicy Crab Rice, each cost ~SD12, not too bad le. Yummmy although it was really spicy at 1st. Dessert was something called Giant Earthquake SD25, consist of 8 big scoop of ice-cream with fresh cream & delish topping.
The most convenient transportation is the MRT, can go anywhere anytime. Got lost, no problem just hop on 1 & u r heading home.
2nd day was spent at Ikea. Lunch was Danish Meat Balls & Salmon, comes with coffee, mushroom soup, bun & butter, per-set only SD7.50.
3rd day was spent sightseeing with Ester, hubby's niece. Double Decker ride was fun, not as scary as HK:
Destination : Haw Par Villa
I remember visiting this place when I was small. Now it's rather old and rundown. We were the only ones there. The place is full of colorful sculptures with Chinese influences like this:
A lot of animals too:The BAD influence of NARUTO:
Then it got scarier, with half human half animal thingy:
Even nudity was allowed:As we were running away from all the blue blue sculptures, bump into these real creatures:ar .... at least it's not as scary as those weird half human half animal stones:Afternoon was spent shopping at Vivo. Lunch was Beef & Spicy Beef at Yoshinoya. This fast food chain is famous for the beef *duh*& cost us less than SD13 for both. It tasted ok only lar, not mind blowing. Nevertheless, still happy I can eat for so much less in S'pore (if I don't do currency conversion lar)

4th day was spent shopping & eating at IMM. Donuts, egg tart for breakfast. Lunch was at Cafe Cartel for Pork Ribs & Grilled Salmon (with soup, peach tea & ice-cream) with free flow of freshly baked bread & butter & iced water too. Really worth it as all was ~SD25 only **but I forgot to take pictures as too busy eating**

Day 5 was spent at Chinatown. Breakfast at hawker stall. It was HOT. Meal prices are almost same compared with cleaner super big mall air-con food court which I prefer, honestly. Walk around, sweat like pig, drank coconut & buy non-halal Bak Poh. A genuine tourist.
Afternoon was spent catching up with Edwin **actually hubby & Edwin were chit-chatting while waiting for me to SHOP at Orchard Road**

Lunch was at MOS Burger (Jap Fast Food). I just loved the Yakiniku (beef) & Unagi (eel) wrap with rice bun. Why no outlet in Kuching hor? *fast fast some1 franchise I'll go everyweek*

Evening time was reserved for NATURE, so off we went to Botanical Garden. Ester really enjoyed the outing as she got to run around, being thrown high up into the sky & just rolled on the grass:
Dinner was at a Japanese Restaurant *again*. After looking through the menu than I realize that it's a fusion of Japanese & Western Food. Not really into it. I did not finished the sourish tasting pasta with ham & fish roe: Hubby susah payah finished the rib eye beef cube:Then headed over next door to the ice-cream joint called "Island Creamery". The 1st thing that caught my eyes were the wall of photos of happy patrons, very creative:The ice-cream is home made with adaptation of local flavor such as teh tarik, cendol, pulut hitam (black glutinous rice dessert), black sesame ice-cream and even fruity versions such as banana, coconut, soursop etc.
we tried the Teh Tarik & Burnt Caramel. it was YUMS!!!

Last day was spent shopping at Marina Square & Raffles City & SunTec. Lunch at the foodcourt was really cheap. Japanese stall selling UNAGI set (eel with rice, soup & watermelon) only SD6.00. Ngai tii ... almost same quality as Ajiten but that cost me RM32.

It was a Rest & Relax vacation that I really enjoyed. Woke up late everyday then decide on the daily itinerary. No rushing. Slept even earlier than usual (not internet mar).

waaaa .... holiday over liaw... need to go back to WORK :~(
