Day 2 : Bali (SPA, Uluwatu Sunset & Jimbaran Dinner

It was hubby's birthday on our 2nd day in Bali. This surprise trip to Bali was booked by me 1 month in advance & was too excited to keep it to myself & ended up telling hubby all about the trip to BALI after all arrangement was made. I just cannot NOT tell hubby...hai... so the surprise was not really a surprise anymore!

Happy 30th Birthday my dearest hubby!!!

Woke up late & just "nua" on the bed until "kam guan" get out of bed. Then had buffet breakfast, I just loved the croissant with butter. Bali coffee tasted weird. COCO crunch with milk, I miss!

Then more "nua-ing" on the bed. Were goin over the brochure we took from the airport. Don't have anything scheduled for today yet. Before this trip, Sexylip recommend the SPA + SUNSET + Dinner package that he signed up while in Bali that was totally worth the money.

I compared all the prices & called up the company offering the cheapest package... u know lar, the kiam siap ness cannot be deny anymore but now economy bad mar. With that out of the way, we continue to nua, read & swim.Guess what I'm trying to show you.yup, something with strawberries...
It's Strawberry Tart! Ain't it a pretty sight?By 2pm, a van was send to picked us up & set off to hubby's virgin SPA + Massage pampering session.
Hubby was anxious. He din know what to expect & he don like the idea of some1 touching him... hehehe... But I've convinced him that he would loved all the pampering. Started off with Aromatic Foot Bath. Hubby keep on laughing because "geli" when the girl started to wash his feet. He laugh even louder when the brush touch his feet. hahaha... I'm glad his happy.
Then we went into a room & was asked to strip naked. Ok lah, half naked but felt like naked lor as we were given a flimsy little disposable underwear. I was expecting a bra tube but was given none. Hmm... I started to feel very uneasy as my 2 lump of fat were not covered. The massage started on our back, so face down to the floor. Temporarily forgot about the bra-less situation as I was high from the Balinese Massage. But hubby totally lost it lar, he kept laughing & laughing & laughing bcoz he felt "geli" wherever the girl touch. A very happy hubby... great.

When I turned & lie on my back, the towel were cowering my upper body, but when the girl started to massage the upper body, the towel was taken off & I's totally embarrassed, but I told myself that I'm never gonna meet them again anyway so just brave it out.

After the Whole Body Massage, followed with Tropical Fruit Body Polish, Body Wash & Body Lotion. Then the last was the Aromatic Flower Bath.
When we were finished & got dress, hubby said, "I still cannot understand why people enjoy massage so much. It was such a HIGH pressure situation where I need to control my laughter. NO fun lar." I guess that would be the last time hubby will b goin for any SPA & massage treatment. The session ended with ginger tea, which I absolutely adore. Brought back much of my fond memories of late grandma.
Around 4.30pm, proceed on to our next destination. Let me give you some clue.

Must wear a sarong, so must be heading to a temple. There are a lot of monkeys around.
On the way, we even saw the largest flower in the world & "enjoyed" the pungent smell too.
Can you spot the temple? Perched on the edge of stiff cliff on the south coast of Bali with a drop of 825 ft. facing open Indian Ocean. The famous Pura Luhur UluwatuThe pounding surf...Getting nearer & nearer to the destination. Standing behind hubby on the left is our guide. He told us lotsa interesting stuff.
This is called kulkul. Really, now don laugh. Kulkul is Balinese wooden slit gong made of long, hollowed-out wooden block. When the kulkul is sounded, all balinese will stop whatever they are doin & listen to the rhythm of the kulkul & decipher the meaning. Kulkul is a communication devices used to summon or convey special message to its members. Cool eh? Now no need anymore, since we got cellphone war kekkeke.
The temple ground which we cannot enter...Actually nothing much to see up close the temple. So we proceed to walk around the cliff top to the south of the temple.
Look at the temple... it's so tiny u will miss it if not paying any attention.
The view towards the south of the temple... where we plan to walk until the end of the path.
Hubby were standing at the very edge of the cliff side taking photos of the temple, I was so scared as people were walking around him trying to get a good shot 2.Risking life just to get this shot...When the monkeys here get bored of exhibiting their ku ku,or bored of the awesome view of sunsets... or caring for a young 1, they will try to snatch sunglasses, bags, hats, anything with-in their reach.
I manage to keep them at a distance. I was fully prepared, by grabbing a stick in 1 hand & another holding the frame of my sunglasses. But during a split second of divided attention, the monkey took the opening...
@#$% that's how the monkey ended up chewing my sunglasses %@$^
Sigh... return to more happy stuff... Watching the sun set while sometimes trying to peep into the Kecak Dance performance. We decided to skip the Kecak Dance to enjoy the sunset... Time for DINNER! We were whisked off to Jimbaran Beach....
Romantic dining right on the beach... Looking down the beach, there are restaurants and tables as far as the eye can see. You're literally meters away from the waters edge. This provides both the nice sounds and views of the crashing waves, cannot see much lar as it was dark oledi...
Really there's nothing quite like dining underneath the stars, candle lit tables on the beach, listening to the crashing of waves, light onshore breeze cooling you, toes digging into the sand, all the while enjoying the vocals from a quintet of acoustic musicians serenading love songs.BBQ Sweet Corn Vendor...
Surrounded by candlelight, stars and acoustic serenades, our meal arrived. The roving bands of musicians would visit right to your table. We watched and listened to them at other peoples tables and were quite impressed. We wondered if they would come over to our table. But before that can happen, the "hairy hairy" rain came & destroyed my plan of asking the band to sing a Birthday Song to hubby. Luckily we had finished our food by that time. I was hoping the rain would go away & sat a while longer but the rain started to really pour so we had no choice but to moved inside of the restaurant. The food was nothing spectacular but the dining experience & superb view are! Romantic candlelight dinner on the beach. Ahhh... that's life!

All in all, the 7 hours package that include SPA - Uluwatu Sunset - Jimbaran Dinner cost USD80 (RM280) for both of us. It's quite worth the $$ as everything was included even the seafood dinner set. I've opted for this half day tour as many has warned that Jimbaran Seafood are way too expensive & they cheat on the weighing scale too. With this kind of package, everything has been handled & I don hav to worry about anything. And the tour guide has been really sweet & helpful.

That ends our 2nd day in Bali. Happy Birthday Hubby!
