HK Day 4: Repulse Bay & Stanley Market (Jan08)

NO trip to HK is complete without a ride on the FAMOUS Star Ferry Between Kowloon Peninsula & HK Island. Plus it's quick, cheap & efficient and a real taste of old HK.

We rode the Star Ferry from Tsim Sha Tsui in Kowloon to HK island's Central Pier. The fleet of classic green & white "Star Ferry" preserve some of Victoria harbor's heritage.
It cost us each less than RM1. The ferries come every 10 mins so there was minimal waiting time. It was clean and comfortable, albeit a bit bumpy.
We rode on the bottom deck with the hum of the motors & enjoyed the fantastic view of the skyline. Hubby is bringing me to hav Dim Sum breakie at a well known restaurant called Lin Heung. It's patronized by locals, seldom by tourist like us.It was FULL HOUSE!! When 2 guys got up from their seat, we quickly sat down sharing the table with another couple instructed by an old man. Then the old man pass us a piece of paper & gave us a pot of tea. Like in the movies, a lady pushed a trolley with steaming dim sum walk pass us. Hubby wanted Har Kau but don't have then ask for Siew Mai but also ran out. Then he went blank bcoz din know wat to order anymore & she just walk away... Then the kind couple offered to help, thank god. The 1st 2 tray was YUMMY but I don't know the name. It's full of flavors sending my taste butt overdrive.
Then another lady pushed out a freshly steam goodies & every1 rushed to her. Found out got Lo Mai Kai so hubby join in the fun. Later 2 guys was shouting at each other I tot they gonna fight over Dim Sum -_-" wat an exciting experience. After the awesome dim sum walk around Stanley Street searching for the camera lens... yea Hubby not giving up yet. The place is littered with stalls selling CNY stuff. Look the mousy so cute, got real bulu.
tung tung tung chiang!!!
I bought the paper lantern, just cannot resist... not 1 but 3 ... hahah... so happy.
Our first destination was to Repulse Bay. Went using the ever convenient public transport, the bus via Central to Stanley.

Nothing spectacular lar about Repulse Bay but it's damn clean. All those celebrity, million billionaire lives near to this place. See the houses at the hillside, Jackie Chan's house is on the top left. Other than that the place was pretty normal…
Then we walk over under the scorching sun to Tin Hau Temple. Most of the people who visit it were tourist. It's kinda interesting bcoz the temple & the statues surrounding the temple are adorn with mosaic pieces. Below is the famous bridge at Repulse Bay. There's a believe that if u walk across the bridge, u can prolonged ur life for 3 days. But u r not suppose to walk back as it would cross out the luck, u need to return via another route la. yay .. I prolonged my life by 3 days...weeee
Lion, lion ... guard the temple ooo...Tin Hau Temple:Took a bus down the road to Stanley Market. Walk around briefly but it was so hot. All the open air eating place was full. I bought the Chinese Writing/drawing translated from both our name.
