ShenZhen Day 2: Folk Culture Village (Jan'08)

China Folk Culture Village, a sister park of Splendid China, is a large cultural attraction where folk art, folk customs & folk dwellings are on display in actual size. Hubby happily exclaimed "yay... no more of the miniature thingy. Getting sick of it".

On the way walking to village, saw this sad looking donkey... lai lai ... sayaaaang...

Lamasery (Tibetan Buddhism) is not an active temple, rather something like a museum display:
Hubby looks fiercer than the dragon hahhaha:Finally get to see this wedding carriage for real (always see in movies nia):
Me trying out the water wheel thingy... almost step into the water ... pai seh .. quickly got downAlways fall for sweet dessert on sale: Tau Hu Hua
kena tipu, the ancient Tau Hu Fa sucks... tastier at Kua Chayng Hang, Kuching.
R u looking for me ?? *shy*Please come in & make ur self at home.Row & row of Golden Corns:Grinding rice with the help of a small kid (child labor is common here ... like seriously): I'm Rumpelstiltskin cousin, ''The Girl Who Spun Gold'' *i wish*
Taking a nap ...then quickly got up as the thought hit me ... dunno if millions b4 me also did the same or not ... yea... i know ... a bit slow... yaaaAAAks.
Yi Village, where music is a BIG part of their life. The sound from the 'special flute' was real fabulous, a live show for me & hubby, even can hear it while walking up the hill towards the house.
Even in the house, music instrument are everywhere:To spice things up a bit:
CNY decor are everywhere, even on The Wind & Rain Bridge:
The most exciting show of the day was the Live Spectacle Horseback Battle called "Unparalleled Hero"With exciting background music, hundreds of professional actors (some r just kids) will take u back to the early 12th Century's battlefield.
Co-ordination was perfect from start to end...
Taking a leak... cannot tahan liaw ...
Shui Village made a deep impression as there was a humongous tree with red ribbons tied on the hanging roots in front of their village.
Look ... nice street lighting eh???
The performance of Villages, especially Folk dance displayed the Chinese folk arts incisively and vividly. Below are the pretty Mongolian Ladies:
wah seh man ... I traveled the whole of CHINA in just one day!!
