ShenZhen Day 2: Spendid China (Jan'08)

We started early in the morning, around 10am. Posing in front of the Happy Valley Theme Park. I like the colorful flowers around the park.

Started the day with a walk around the area. Actually we were looking for Walmart Super Mall. But we got lost & kena bomb by hubby bcoz I got the wrong direction & he threaten to go back hotel & sulk the whole way ... hahaha ... for me, it's just a blessing in disgust as we got to see the real china where people dances & practice tai chi in parks, a wedding in progress & people busily getting on with their life.

Bought milk & buns for breakfast... hehe... bcoz we walk pass it on the way to the metro. Our 1st destination today is Splendid China. It was only 1 metro stop away.

Splendid China is an attraction that has scaled down replicas of China's historical buildings, wonderful scenes and folk customs. The scale models are in a ratio of 1:15. Hubby was like "Wat!!! another miniature thingy???" I don’t remember how many village/house replicas were shown but there are a loooooooott!!!

Here's me before the entrance to the park, I is a sucker for flowers:It's such a joy to be greeted with such beautiful garden once I walked through the entrance: Within the park, more than 80 miniature sites are arranged according to the positions of the real ones in the map of China.

The 1st we saw was this Tibet's Potala Palace on a hill:The Forbidden City, also called The Imperial Palace:

The Forbidden City has been ornately and beautifully replicated and as with the original the dominant color is yellow, the symbol of the royal family:
It still amazed me how ancient Chinese can build such a place like The Cliff Side Tombs:Hubby enjoying the perfect weather ... really blessed:The Great Wall of China is the world's longest protective wall (apa ni ... as if u don know pulak):

Hubby getting tired of the walk & start to complaint, the place is so BIG a map is needed to navigate properly heheheh ....Look out for enemies approaching ... bionic eyes, no need binocular: Impressed with hubby's photo taking skill ... look so real rite??? me is the veli proud. Time to relax & enjoy my afternoon nap ... the weather was really nice. A sunny day but we don't get all sweaty.

Hubby was excited about this as it's the dwelling Houses of the Hakka's, his ancestor. Hubby very proud bcoz it's so unique:
The exhibits are surrounded by pleasant gardens with many flowers and trees. So walking in Splendid China was very relaxing.

Apart from the miniature buildings and scenic spots, there are over 50,000 ceramic figures. Here the Terra Cotta Warrior wanna get to know me better:Overall it was a really nice walk with beautiful scenery & the good weather was a bonus.
The only thing is that there's no such thing as bein civil in this part of the world. Kids go around 'destroying' the masterpieces with their parent encouraging at the side with 'look here... look here' & snapping away.To be continue...
