Europe Day 6-7: Paris, France Dec'07

Arrived at PARIS, the CITY of LooooooVE!!!!
After 2 hours of bus ride from the airport -__-" omgomgomg ... die ... where got ENOUGH TIME like that??!! Why the airport so FAR???!!!

Again, the METRO is fabulously convenient but you do not get to see any of Paris as you go from point to point! But that's ok, people watching is damn cool lar ... Parisian very fashionable le & the guys ... omg so cute... so model like.

Skipped excitedly out of metro , found Arc de Triomphe staring at me right in the face. But it was raining *sob sob* so no photos. Took shelter at a nearby building & enjoyed the view from afar.

Destination: Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris
Hop on the metro to our next destination. "Saint Michel" greet us on the next stop.
Walk across the street & there standing proudly is the Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris, "Our Lady of Paris". It's a beautiful Gothic Cathedral on the Île de la Cité.
Situated In an old railway station on the left bank of the Seine River is Musee d'Orsay. As u can see it's still raining ... sien ...

A common sight in Paris are these cafe along the street like this 1.

I wanted to just sit & enjoy a cup of coffe but time is not on my side ... need to GO GO GO.

Next Destination: Eiffel Tower.
The metro was under repaired so WALKING UNDER the RAIN for 1/2 hr was the darkest moment for me in PARIS. The combination of Winter & Soaking Wet = freezing like hell *brrrr*

Jumping with joy when I caught a glimpses of the Eiffel Tower. It was still raining so cross the road to the front of the tower for a view of the Seine River.
The Iéna bridge crossing the river towards Palais de Chaillot .The view of the tower from far. It was still raining so again took photo from the shelter of nearby building.

super super sien with this RAIN!!!

Luckily by sunset the rain stop for a while so I happily snapped the Eiffel Tower.

Then it drizzled again.

But night fall, I was super x100000 happy.
PARIS is
truly a city of light.

The Eiffel Tower twinkles with thousands of fairy lights.
Destination: Musee du Lourve
The fort surrounding the Musee beautiful lighted up:Entry point of the Musee du Lourve, the modern glass pyramid in the courtyard. Did u know it's designed by I.M. Pei, a Chinese??
Across the road is the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel (smaller version of Arc de Triomphe). If u buka mata besarx2, can see Eiffel tower on the left & the lighted-up Big Ferris Wheel on the right.
Nest stop: Les Champs Elysées.
Former French President Charles De Gaulle's statue standing outside the metro welcoming me. Howdy mate?
Les Champs-Elysées at night. The leafless plane trees that line either side of the grand avenue are ablaze with fairy lights all the way from the Place de la Concorde to the Arc de Triomphe The dare devil in me shine through & stood in the middle of the road to capture the BIG ferris wheel.
Can u spot the Arc de Triomphe?? Further south side of De Gaulle's statue, on either side of the road are the Grand Palais (big palace) and Petit Palais (little palace).Just off the Champs Elysées are some of the most fashionable streets. Can see many famous *super freaking expensive* French brand names, such as Chanel, Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton, Guy Laroche, Givenchy, Cartier, Yves Saint Laurent & Hermes.

need 2 cover more grounds 2molo. Time to recharge battery ...

Waking up to a clear blue sky have never brought me so much joy.
Bought some coffee from nearby shop & the adventure starts.

Looked at the stairs & I shed a tear.

Now it's time for a wlnklckns ngai tii slight uphill climb to the 1st destination of the day.

Basilica de Sacre-Coeur, "Basilica of the Sacred Heart".
A mosaic in the apse, entitled Christ in Majesty, is among the largest in the world.
Paris skyline from here. Now the climb was totally worth it. Glad that I did not miss it.Destination : Saint-Germain-des-Prés
The porch tower sturdily buttressed to support the weight of its massive bells, is one of the oldest bell towers still standing.
The captivating beauty of Musee du Lourve made me returned for another glimpse.
The view from below the
Glass Pyramid:
The day view of the Pyramid at Musee du Lourve.
A closer look at Arc du Triomphe du Carrousel (built to celebrate Napoleon's victories in 1805) across the road from Lourve.
Hav a break, hav a cheesy bite : Nearby is the Tuileries Gardens. Me excitedly explore the hedge-mazes. Having some FUN with the accommodating modern sculptures.
Destination: Place de la Concorde.
It's the largest square in Paris. 1 of the numerous fountains there:
The main monument in this square is the Obélisque (on the left). Carved on the obelisk are hieroglyphics which describe the achievements of the pharaoh presented to France by Egypt.
Look ..
La Grande Roue aka Ferris Wheel & me (on the right).
Crossing the road from the fountain, is Jardin des Tuileries. There's a large pond and fountain, encircled by statues representing mythological figures and events. Notice the dis-figuration of these sculptures ... effects of "acid-rain" aku rasa lar. It's one of those parks where you can grab a chair for free and sit wherever you like.

As I missed the photo opportunity yesterday due to rain, headed back to Arc de Triomphe as the last stop.

Now I can leave Paris without any regrets :)

I heart U Paris!!!!

If I kena toto mega, I'll come back for sure.
