A letter to Grandpa

Ah Kong,

Today you left us without saying goodbye.
It was so sudden, I just could not accept it.
You were looking great the other day.
Even showed me a "thumb up" sign for the sio bee.
The wound on your leg was healing well.
WHY??!!
At first I felt so sad that you are not with us anymore.
Then I felt guilty too because I did not spent as much time with you as I wanted.

Lying down at the casket, you looked so calm & peaceful.
You looked so handsome I could not stop crying.
I will not be able to buy you sio pau or sio bee anymore.

You had a good life. You taught me to enjoy the finer things in life. It's the little things that count.

I know you are already in Heaven watching over us. You're probably shaking your head with my level of sugar intake, but I'm sure you also are looking down with love & pride at the family you built.

I know I can speak for all of your grandchildren, when I say we miss you, but we will never forget you, because you have imprinted yourself permanently on our hearts. We love you.

Until we will meet again,
faith

A Baha'i prayer for my beloved grandpa:

O my God! O Thou forgiver of sins, bestower of gifts, dispeller of afflictions!

Verily, I beseech Thee to forgive the sins of such as have abandoned the physical garment and have ascended to the spiritual world.

O my Lord! Purify them from trespasses, dispel their sorrows, and change their darkness into light. Cause them to enter the garden of happiness, cleanse them with the most pure water, and grant them to behold Thy splendors on the loftiest mount.

~‘Abdu’l-Bahá~
