More Scooooooooops please

I was way too early for my spa & massage session so I hopped into Scoops Gelato Bar to kill some time.
And I'm glad I did it as it was a wise moved.

The girl behind the counter was really nice & ask whether I wanna try out some of the flavors 1st before ordering. wow... nice! I tried 4 flavors, I think, and ended up with the initial 2 flavors that I wanted to try: Peanut butter & Butter Scotch for RM8. I really liked it. But actually I like anything with peanut butter hahahahaha.

With a gossip magazine in hand, I was really just enjoying my time. When I was younger, I would rather die than be seen sitting alone in a cafe or shop. How about you?

Friends were telling me about the SALE at LEVI's, which I cannot believe as I've never bought LEVI's with discount evar before in my life. I had to rush to tHe SPRING to see it for myself. And true enuf, there was SALE, a very quiet sale as nobody was in the shop. GREAT!

I cannot believe my eyes, not 30%, not 50% but 60% discount le!

With such good bargain, hubby told me to pick 3 jeans... hehhehe... not 1, not 2 but 3, tiga, san!!! I think I've been a really good girl.

There were not much choices available but it was enuf for me. I like most of it. Yup, I'm not very choosy 1.

I'm so happy as I save a lot of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
For this jean, original price was RM384, I got it for only RM154. yay... I save RM230 for 1 jean. Now, multiple it by 3.

I totally dig the shopping bag that came with the purchase... adding to my collection, I got 2 in RED which I got 2 years ago. man... it has been a loooooooong time since I got any new jeans. I deserved these jeans!

Instruction inside the bag. Soooo COOL!

Early Ching Ming

Went to graveyards today.
It was quite far away, 20++ mile I think as we did passed by Jong's Crocodile Farm.
Scrubbing & Cleaning Hubby's dad's tomb, it's all covered in tiles so no pruning of grass needed.
Thank god weather was gorgeous.
Then it was time for breakfast at 10 mile, ne the corner shop opposite Padawan Council Office.
Can even order RM40 Ko Lo Mee here.
Dunno why so famous??
I find the Ko Lo Mee ok saja. The fish ball was yummy.
Then followed MIL to the 10 mile wet market. It was a wise move as I found these!!!
Buah Kedondong!! IT WAS SUPER CHEAP!!! Only RM2 for the above + 2 more already in my tummy heheh. Only 20 cents for each! DAMN WORTH IT!

We called a day after visiting hubby's Grandma's tomb too near 4th mile. Hubby's family is doin these "ching ming" earlier as they won't here during that time.

Today's lunch was specially prepared by me. Cute le. Look like a bear... no?

Our Air-con was down for Scheduled Preventive Maintenance (cleaning lar). So now my room is very cold although I set the temp to 25 degree. I was so worried for the guy as he climb so high up without safety belt attached or anything, just a ladder & a hose, yikes. Risking his life for only RM45, hmmmm....
Hubby's family was here for afternoon high tea, or in literal term, Starbucks Coffee after reading my post regarding how hubby claim it to be The Best In the WORLD! Well I enjoyed my coffee with Butter cookies, yummy! MIL watched 2 episodes of American Idol. The judges are a funny lot. And I think Simon is the only 1 with any real contructive critiques of the contestants' performance.

Would you?

We had an opportunity to test drive a Nissan 350z a few months back, but we did not have enough time to take a spin in this baby...
Would you test drive it
although you have NO intention at all to buy one?

Reason can be your spouse object to it. Road tax is ridiculous for this ride & drinks petrol like there is no tomorrow. Then there's the cost of maintaining it. It can be endless.

Although I know this car is out of reach (for now), but I would be jumping in joy if given a chance to have a JOY RIDE in this baby. Yea, sports car do make me go crazy.

Have or NOT have children??

Am sharing an article I found that's interesting & the 1st point had me laughing out loud.

Tell me, have you thought about this question???
What do you think???
Have or NOT have children?

20 Reasons Not to Have Children

  1. Birth. Imagine pushing a grapefruit through your anus. Imagine it taking ten hours. Imagine that after ten hours of trying to push a grapefruit through your anus and failing that doctors cut a big hole in your belly to remove the grapefruit. Don't believe anyone who says that they forget all about it in a few months.
  2. Responsibility. All of life's prior responsibilities pale in comparison. If you decide to have a child, that new person must absolutely be your top priority. As your child will remind you when he or she is older and something goes wrong, "I didn't ask to be born." A child is a life long commitment to a person who is innocent of this choice.
  3. Diapers. Disposable diapers these days absorb lots of liquid, and they don't leak. But you still have to change hundreds of them. Often they contain more than liquid. As the child gets older, diapers become smellier and bigger tasks. Then there is toilet training, with its inevitable setbacks and accidents.
  4. 3am wakeups. Caring for a child takes a lot of physical and emotional energy, made all the harder by babies that only sleep for ninety minutes at a time. Many parents of much older children seem to forget how hard the first few months were as they look at the past with rose colored glasses. Don't believe them. Parents need sleep to work well, and they often can't get it.
  5. Hard on marriages. A baby takes so much time and attention that spouses must already have a great friendship and work well together before the baby arrives. It is a certainty that one spouse will disagree with the other about decisions on how to care for the child. It is likely that one spouse will resent the lost time with the other. A marriage with some difficulties will get much worse when a baby is crying and the parents are sleep deprived.
  6. Advice. Total strangers leap forward to offer advice about how to raise your child. Most of the advice is contradictory and flat out wrong. Strangers will be much easier to ignore than your friends and family, many of whom have raised children quite successfully. Some advice you may want, but lots of it will be unsolicited and unappreciated.
  7. Changed relationships. When your family expands by the addition of a child, your relationships with everyone, and I mean everyone, changes. Your child is at the forefront of most of your thoughts, and those people without children cannot relate. Those people with children are finally happy to see that you can relate. Everyone will watch how you raise your child and will at some point cluck and disapprove, including those who raised ten children and those who raised none. Some strong bonds will weaken, some friends will not been seen again. Some may improve, but with your energies and devotions directed towards your child, that is much less likely.
  8. Free time. You will have none. Most time not spent with your child will be spent catching up on work you need to get done. You and your spouse must carefully plan any time away from your child, and very little can be done spontaneously. To pretend otherwise is probably neglectful of either your child or your spouse.
  9. Worry. Parents always worry about their children, monitoring how fast they reach each milestone and how well they grow, eat, sleep, crawl, walk, read, make friends, and so on. And yet there is little a parent can do beyond allow a child to proceed at his or her own pace. It can be frustrating and scary when your child isn't eating well, or cannot read at his or her grade level, or is socially inept.
  10. Money. Children are expensive in several ways. One parent loses wages while caring for a child. Children need to eat and be clothed. They need toys with which to explore the world. They need health care, they need education, they need activities and hobbies. They will need car insurance. The proper raising of a child is not cheap.
  11. Laundry. Children do not contribute to household chores until they are older, and even then they generate more work than labor. Having a child means that your living space will need more cleaning than before, not only as your child makes a mess of it but also because you cannot let your child crawl around in dust and dirt. Your child will find all sorts of vile things to put in his or her mouth in the cleanest of homes. Your laundry and dishes will double, and you will do all the picking up after your child for many years.
  12. Tantrums. Many times you will tell your child that they cannot have what they want, and they will scream to get you to change your mind. You will need to avoid saying "no" as much as possible, but then stick to your decision when you do. Otherwise you will encourage tantrums. However, younger children cry because that is the only way they have to express themselves, and you need to be attentive. It becomes difficult judging when a child is having a serious problem and when he or she is having a tantrum. Tantrums are not just for two-year-old children, they will continue for years in many different forms as your child will attempt to change your mind. At some point children figure out how to get what they want despite you, and that opens another can of worms.
  13. Rebellion. Children need to assert their independence and individuality. All will feel stifled in some way by their parents or other authority figures, and they will attempt to subvert the dominant hegemony. Didn't you? It usually isn't pretty.
  14. Dissonance. Lots of adults do not get along with their parents. Perhaps they forget all the work that their parents put into raising them, or perhaps they resent that the work that their parents did was not enough. At some point your child will probably be very angry with you, and may even hate you for years. This is not uncommon, and you know it because you can name a dozen people who don't get along with their own parents.
  15. Pain. Your child will cry and you won't know why or how to fix it. You will mess up and let your child get hurt. You won't be there and your child will get hurt. Your child will get really sick. Your child will fail at something and feel humiliated and worthless. Guaranteed. The world is a hard place on everyone, especially small, naive, fragile people.
  16. 6 billion. The world is already overpopulated. Do you really have to add to it? Do not answer this question lightly. Every new human draws on our limited resources, tramples over previously undamaged land, creates more waste, and accelerates worldwide instability.
  17. Failed expectations. You may expect your child to be interested in things that fascinate you, and then be disappointed. You may be brilliant and your child may be dull. You may be athletic, unhappy to discover that your child has trouble walking a straight line. Your child may abandon your religion or main beliefs. Your child may grow up to be someone you have very little in common with. In fact, your child will definitely not be a little version of you. Any thoughts about what kind of person you want your child to be are wasted thoughts, and probably detrimental.
  18. Lost freedom. People without children can easily pack up and move. They can be without work or change careers. They can break up with their partners and find new ones. Children, while often flexible, must be accounted for in all major life changes. In fact, they demand that the world not change around them so fast while their own understanding of the world grows and changes at the same time. Stability and routine allows a child to explore life from a vantage of safety and consistency. You must be willing to give your child such stability at the cost of your own freedom.
  19. Hard work. Raising a child takes more than love and time. You must concentrate on all methods of communication that your child attempts so that you may properly understand his or her needs and wants. You must introduce your child to new stimulation and situations regularly. You have to figure out best ways to teach your child at each age, what to teach them, and when to teach. You must be available and responsive to your child even when you are tired or sad or very busy.
  20. The unthinkable. The death of a child, while unlikely, is devastating. It often destroys marriages, as both spouses need comfort that the other cannot provide. Frequently one parent will blame the other. So much emotion, time, and energy gets poured into a child that to lose it all at once is crippling. Many well meaning people say hurtful and stupid things in a misguided attempt to help. This is one case where it is better to not have loved at all than to have loved and lost.

10 Reasons to Have Children

  1. They're cute. In fact, your own child is adorable. Every sigh, every laugh, every motion is bliss. You fall in love with them.
  2. Re-experiencing childhood. Regardless of how good your own childhood was, your child allows you to vicariously relive childhood. Usually it's much better the second time around, when you have all the wisdom of age but can enjoy the energy of youth. Playing with a two-year-old feels like being two years old again.
  3. Learning. Watching your child learn is fascinating and fun. Each new skill or idea or word learned is a little victory. If you watch carefully, you will see that something new is discovered or conquered every single day. Your child will need to learn a lot from you, as he or she starts without much knowledge at all except for perfect sense of his or her feelings. While you are busy teaching your child about practical aspects of the world, your child will be teaching you emotional sensitivity. The active teaching and learning process is rewarding and fulfilling.
  4. Reflection. Everything that you already can do probably take for granted, but your child will remind you that all those skills had to be learned. It reminds you of how far you have come in life, and shows you the sorts of difficulties you probably had when you were your child's age. Your child will also notice things that you have long since filtered out. I didn't realize how many birds there were outside my house until my daughter showed me.
  5. Reincarnation. Your genetic makeup is a small part of your identity. More important are your ideas, beliefs, manners, and stories. All of these things will be taken up by your child and then changed around. Your child will never be a clone of yourself, fortunately, but instead will be a new variation of you and the other people that raise him or her. If you like yourself then this is very satisfying.
  6. Socializing. Every society has a subculture for people who raise children. At every age you can find people also raising a child in a similar situation. You can make many new friends with whom you have a lot in common. The comradely and shared experiences ease some difficulties.
  7. Control. You must not tell other people how to raise their own children. However, if you raise your own child, you get to do it your way, which you presumably believe is the right way. People might disagree with your methods, but if you have thought at great length about it--and you should if you plan on having a child--then you probably have good reasons for all the decisions you will have to make. When you find that your methods are not perfect, which you will, you can change them appropriately.
  8. Adoption. There are lots of children in the world without parents. Adopting a child is an excellent way to greatly improve the life of someone who would have a very hard time otherwise.
  9. Entertainment. Children have lots of energy and can be lots of fun. They develop imaginations, a sense of humor, and lots of excitement. Little kid laughs are infectious. Playing with children is very enjoyable.
  10. Love. You are the center of your child's world, and as much as you may love and need your child, he or she will love you more. Children that are shown love and affection show it back many times over.

Happy ppl vs unHappy people

I think that

1 . Happy people are characterized by the belief
that they are able to control their situation
;

whereas

Unhappy people tend to believe that they are a toy of fate.

I believe that I'm able to take hold of my own destiny if I am determined enough. This I have to thank my parent as they've instilled this in me since I was young. When there's a will, there's a way. I was brought up to think that anything was possible.

2 . Happy people are people that bother to count their blessings;

whereas

Unhappy people never seem to bother to make the best out of things.

I believe that everything happens for a reason and bad luck can always be good luck in disguise, just open your eyes & look for it. Another popular phase used at home : BLESSING in DISGUISE. No choice hahahha... I was brought up to be optimistic.

3 . Happy people are smart enough to realize
that the past belongs to the past
;

whereas

Unhappy people tend to mull over grudges or flaws
that are no longer significant
.

I believed that it's your choice to want that happiness.
If your life is so miserable,
blame yourself for moping and wallowing in self pity.

I believe that your eyes are set in front
because you are meant to look forward.

It's called Knee-Con

Our Humidity Control Cabinet (also called the Dry Cabinet) where we store our camera gear is running out of SPACE!!!

YUP.
Hubby got another TOY.
In a bid to stimulate the economy on his part.
Nikon AF-S 70-200 f/2.8 VR
Last night the seller shoot hubby in the face with this comment after hubby spent a few minutes testing the HUGE lens.

Hubby: man... my arm hurt... it's so heavy
Seller: It's TIME for you to get in shape man!!!
Me: hahahhahaha

Then the seller ask hubby some Q as he was 30 minutes into testing this piece of expensive telephone pole, at least to me it is as it look so DAMN BIG & LONG & HEAVY.

Seller: So what type of photography are you into? Weddings? Landscape?
Hubby: hmm... anything & everything
Seller: Any reason you want this lens?
Hubby: hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Me: HE JUST WANT to OWN IT.
Seller: I understand. Dream Lens eh?
Hubby: Yeah.

When we went Hong Kong shopping for this lens (as it was cheapest in HK), IT WAS SOLD OUT every freaking where. Hubby left HK with his dreams shattered. He vowed to return someday for this baby. But now, DREAMS can come true with ONLINE SHOPPING.

te-hee... using his trusty h/p to take images of his new baby...
I knew the 70-200 was a bit bigger, but nothing prepared me for this, weighing ~1.5kg! The sight of it still made me tremble a bit.
My Professional Looking Photographer hubby...
As his last toy, the D300 cost an arm & a leg, this new lens (xiao hei wu) cost him another arm & leg, his left ball & an ear too, so he is limbless & half deaf & half sterile now. As I know his shopping list is still very loooooong, and I might need his right ball someday, to ease him financially I'm promoting his photography services.

NOW OPEN for BOOKING.

1st come 1st serve.
Willing to TRAVEL!
Weddings, Outdoor, Portrait or even NUDE are most welcome!

Don't miss out!

A Momentous day

Hubby prepared breakfast for me. wow... must buy mega toto later liaw. Here's hubby frying something half naked so I blurred it so that u all would not b jealous of hubby's body & commit suicide.
All you need for a healthy breakfast:
Premium Chicken Frankfurter - Black Pepper, RM5.80 for a pack of 6.

Hot Dog Buns... a "must have" requested by hubby. RM2.20 for 4 pieces from Southern Cake house. Cream Cheese Spread by Kraft, a "must hav" requested by me...With some salad leaves & cucumber for that crunchy bite...
ta-da... presenting to u: Hibiscus Court Hotdog
When the water boils, hubby proceed to make his self proclaim World Famous Starbucks Coffee, brew of the day, that makes you cry just drinking it... hahahah... As I requested Cappuccino he used the only available milk, SKIM which is not suitable compared to Full Cream Milk that can make tons of foam. 1st: warm up the milk, not until boiling.
Put some batteries into the Handy Milk Foamer.Place it in the warm cup of milk for a while... or until you are satisfied with the amount of foam already formed.Hubby beforehand had brewed the coffee. 2 teaspoon of Starbucks Ground Coffee for single shot, which I prefer due to my gastric history. Hubby pour the milk into the freshly brewed coffee & sprinkled some cocoa on top & ta-da, my Cappuccino with a heart shape cocoa topping.Each meal must hav fruits 1.
& wash down with fruit juice for a wholesome breakfast!!!
Ah... a very satisfying breakfast. And the smell of coffee linger for a long time that makes me very happy.

Valentine's Dinner

It has been FUN today, all in the name of St. Valentine!

In trying to save some money for other more important stuff, I've decided to cook (yes, every1 go ahead & gasp!!) for hubby. Well, he has been in doubt. Asking me more than once if it's a good idea. What can b better than a Candlelight Dinner right at home, with food prepared with luv! hahahaha...

Ta-da! Our Romantic Dining area...

A closer look at the food prepared. If u r really looking, then u will notice my Chocolate Fondue Set. Do u see it?

Chocolate Fondue with Marshmallow, Grapes, Kiwis & Oranges... our dessert which we can't finished as our tummy was in danger of exploding!

The fabulous cook with her greatest dish prepared with luuuuuuuv... The mushroom soup with garlic bread was yummy.

Notice the heart shape cucumber that I painstakingly cut out...
Darling ar, I really want Wii le, can get into shape with it bor!

Ah..... another shot of my delicious Lamb... it's not blood on the meat okay, it's chili sauce.

Cheers!

Baby, this will be our 10th Valentine's Day together. Sometimes you still get on my nerve, but most of the time u just cracked me up with ur antics and jokes. I loved how u can break into a song anytime anywhere, never cared what people would think. Telling me I'm not fat. That I'm the sweetest smelling person in the world. Performing magic act, especially those disappearing coins just for me. Always ask me to take photo as it's material for my blog, dunno if u r bein sarcastic. I'm sometimes jealous of ur computer, but I'm glad u r at home and not at some club or pub inhaling those 2nd hand smoke & stuff.
I love you, hubby.
I cannot promise that
I will not get fatter
I will not be late
I will not hav moods swing
I will not buy stuff on impulse
But
I do promise that
I will always b supportive of u
I will share my thoughts & feelings with u
(but not $, u understand rite?)
I will giv u freedom to b yourself
I will try to understand everything that u do
(sometimes u explaining helps alot too okay)
I will help you archive all our goal
(except the part about stay-at-home-dad)
but
most of all
I do promise u that
I love you!

Valentine's High Tea

As a treat for V-day, we had Big Apple Donuts for Valentine's High Tea... hahahah... I'm havin fun using Valentine's as an excuse for everything today.

There are 6 new flavors that I hav not try. Ta-daaaaa... I forgot all their names hahahaahahah... I was too excited to get the name & just paid for it & walk off. It's so pretty... pretty expensive I mean, RM14 for 6 donuts. Before petrol hike was RM12, now that petrol price is cheaper than initial amount, but donuts price still remain same same #$%^^&&*^
Nah... a feast for your eyes.. Look at it for as long as u like, it's free.

oh yeah, if you know the name of the donuts please tell me ya!

Valentine's Shopping

After the brunch, what else but Valentine's Shopping rite? It's what V-day is all about, enjoying each others company, doin stuff together, having fun not doin anything at all, bein silly together what else... actually we do that everyday lar.

Huh? oooo really? Valentine is all about flowers, candy, stuffed toys & jewelry? I must b from a different planet. o well... We can't afford to spent money on those stuff anyway and I do understand. Hubby, u really r fortunate to hav me as ur wifey. Now, where is my Wii, darling?

okie dokie. Shopping started with Cold Storage, BDC. I was looking for Strawberries & Cherries, wanna prepare something special for V-night hehehe... my luck ran out, there was no strawberry or cherry insight... sigh...

Since we ran out of Shampoo & stuff, we stopped by Guardian Pharmacy. Got medicated cream for my lips as recommended by SexyLips. Then we shopped like crazy there, grabbing shampoos, shower cream, everyday use stuff lar... we usually buy stuff in bulk if cheap. Great savings why not buy more rite? And Guardian sure is having great bargains for hubby's medicated shampoo, bought 4. I got 3 types of Shampoo for myself hahahah... as I hav not found 1 that I really like after Vidal Sassoon left without saying bye bye bye. I don't see VS anywhere anymore **sob cry sob** hav been using it since UNI time.

At the payment counter, the cashier was asking whether I wanted STAMPSs.
After much Q & A, I found out that I can redeem Paddington Bear with those stamps. SURE I WANT THE STAMPS!!! The bear is SO CUTE! I want the 1 in yellow raincoat.
wow... I need 25 stamps for a free 10' Paddington Bear.Every RM25 spend entitled u to 1 stamps... means that I need to spent RM625 for 25 stamps o_O" I hav until 8 Apr to collect those stamps. But I hav bought everything we want that would last us at least a few months.
I need 16 more stamps... HELP!!! hmmmm...mayb I should go and buy more stuff & stock up for the whole year and mayb next too hahahahah... like preparing for a flood when I cannot go out & shop, something like that lar.Frens, if you go shopping at Guardian and has no intention at all to collect the STAMPs. Please collect it and give it to me ok? can lar?Then we went for more kia kia at multiple shopping area, in search of Strawberries! Ta Kiong, Choice Daily, Everise & Upwell also dun hav. Time to giv up.

Well, no worries, can still hav TONS of FUN with just Whip Cream! ;)

Hope ya all had a wonderful Valentine's Day too.

Valentine's Brunch

hahhaha.. if there is such thing
I just dun wanna feel left out when every1 else is celebrating it!
Did you know that in the US, nearly $15 billion is spent on candy, flowers and other frivolous gifts? In my opinion, there are better (and sexier) ways to show you care.

Hubby was suggesting we wash the handsome 8 on such a hot hOT HOT day. What were you thinking man? Siau ar??!! Then an idea pop up, to show my love, we would go for Car Wash & Brunch at the same time. Splendid! No need to sweat like a pig & tummy will b filled 2.

That's why we were at The Original Carwash at 10 in the morning.
I opted for the TOC Breakfast RM10. ah... it has been ages since I had baked beans... I finished that mountain of butter arrhhhhggg
Looks at those sausages... nicely done but not flavorful enuf 4 me. The scrambled egg was awesome :)Hubby tried the Laksa RM8. It was a BIG bowl of laksa. With 3 BIG prawns. With big portion of sambal. Look how small hubby's fingers are compared to the bowl. But hubby was disappointed with the soup. SOUP is EVERYTHING! and the soup was too bland.
These are the complimentary drinks that came with the Car Wash & Vacuum. Normally, the Lime Juice cost RM 5.50 while the Coffee is RM5.00. I have save RM10.50. So if you send your car here, remember to bring along a fren for the free drinks.Valentine's Brunch was RM33.00, that includes FULL tummy and a Cleaner & Shinier Car.

What ya all did on Valentine's morning??

Makan-makan at Hijau

wow... Hijau (before the traffic lights toward BDC Everise from flyover) is really popular at night time. The last I went was during day time and it was rather empty. I was surprise finding parking spaces were limited...

There was Roti Canai, Lim's Seafood, Western Food, Grilled Seafood etc. We finally chose Western Food.

Hubby tried the Fish & Chips RM11. It was a HUGE piece of fish with lotsa fries. Hubby loved it. But I find the fish batter too salty.

I picked Lamb Chop RM9.80. It's OK lar for the price I paid. The salad looks pathetic but at least the lamb was not tough (or too soft) & the black papper sauce was quite good too. Drinks was Teh C, RM3.60 for 2. So overall, the dinner cost less then RM25. Still reasonable. Cannot always eat at My Restaurant or Mr. Ho's Fine Food, hav to cut cost...

Dry Bak Kut Teh

Hubby and I are both really BIG eater.
Take this for example...
We would order a 2 person Go-Fun-Kee Bak Kut Teh Special
Then another SPICY DRY Bak Kut Teh
Just for the both of us.
EVIL. It's EVIL this dish. I had tried so damn hard not to eat SPICY FOOD for the last 2 weeks for fear of turning my lips into sausage size. But then the effort all went down to the drain once I saw the dish. It was just too tempting not to eat it. Cannot waste mar.
I think sausage lips suits me.

How can I not gain weight u tell me...

I can't live without...

I'm with you more than 10 hours a day
Not leaving each other the whole time
Although I stepped on you all the time
Using you all the time
Yet you still treat me like a queen
Nice,
snug,
tight
and super super comfortable
u r Soft as rabbits
I think I'm addicted to u
Can't live without you!

You.

Yes

You,

my Toe Socks!

I've converted into a toe socks junkie ever since my 1st pair. It was a birthday gift from BotakFam during our TEL Training in Japan. I bought for myself 3 colorful pairs. Got hooked evar since.
It was hard to find these socks. I had to "import" them from S'pore the 1st year. Thank god, Hush Puppies Apparel outlet opened at Tun Jugah & we hav bcome a loyal customer.

"ONLY SOCKS bah! What is so different?"

Clearly you have never wore a toe socks before. If you can’t enjoy simply wearing your socks, you have missed the true experience of sock wearing. It’s like using Starbucks Ground Coffee Beans to brew your own coffee, compared to mixing up some of the instant coffee powder.

The moral of this is to appreciate the little things in life... especially a good pair of socks that will protect your feet from bacteria and fungal infection.
It is common that what normally might be taken for granted as being ordinary is actually quite extraordinary.

Tong Tong Chiang!

Dear Daddy,

I called 2-chek hp at 10am in the morning as he promised (yesterday) to pick me up for TONG TONG CHIANG. 2-chek did not set alarm clock, so my wake up call was the saving bell... we had to rush to Sarawak Plaza for the show 1st without breakfast... sigh...

The show was supposed to start at 10.30am.

But still we had time to take photos... u know lar "rubber time"

Not a lot of people came for the show. Grandma, mummy & Elijah was on the 1st floor. Elijah was still sleeping when the performance started. But soon was awoke by the loud TONG TONG CHIANG & enjoyed the show too.

After the show, we got the cat to say HELLO to daddy!

In the evening, we went to Traffic Garden again. It was a sunny day but the field was still wet wet wet. I fell and got this as souvenirs...

2-check said not to worry...

See... I look so serious while trying to get rid of the evidence...

That's all Daddy...

Lotsa love from your daughter,
Esther

p/s: Esther is hubby's niece who is going back to S'pore soon.

Wedding Memories 2

The Wedding Reception was right after the ceremony. The guests moved from the Steakhouse to the Hilton Grand Ballroom...

The decoration was handled by the florist right at Hilton Hotel. I chose her as she is most familiar with the Grand Ballroom layout. I specifically request for the flower stand to be lighted up and wrap with organza. As the Wedding Color Theme was Gold, she used white & yellow flowers... a lot of Snow White Lilies were used which I totally adored... The golden candles were purchase from IKEA S'pore during the X'mas season.

The Dragon & Phoenix Ice Sculpture by the buffet table... Fairy lights on the stage was our idea too where it kinda flowed down from the top to bottom like a river...

The HUGE piece of card for guests to sign was made by my Bro & SIL.

Our theme was PERFECT PAIR, that was used as the Wedding Invitation Card theme too. These fragrant pears were bought in KL.

Matched-in to the Grand Ballroom... my flower girls were doin a fantastic job of throwing the rose petals hehehhe... The dinner start at 7pm on the DOT as I stressed again & again that I don care if people r late or whatever. NO RUBBER M'sian TIME!

Look at those vines on the MAIN Table... it was gorgeous... mayb I'm the only 1 that noticed it... I opted for a LONG table so that guest can see us ALL NIGHT LOOOOOOOONG... kidding... I wanted to b able to see everybody & it was something different... actually I request for something like the Harry Porter Style where long tables used for all the guest too but there was not enuf space...

The figurine of a couple hugging was the centerpiece at every table with candles around it and rose petals scattered about... The PERFECT PAIR Biscuit was a favor for all the guests...

We hav opted for a Western Cuisine Buffet... with losta desserts...

After taking like a million photos, then went to change into something more appropriate in a Ballroom.

Then we matched-in again... We were getting hungry & started to eat... I was waving from my seat to people like a celebrity le

Then the CAKE Cutting Ceremony... I loved my Wedding Cake Top, cost a bomb btw from Australia, that showed the bride dragging the groom forcefully... hehhehe...

Then we fed each other the cake... lucky no other kinky request by the guest.

During the Wedding Toast, as no Alcohol is allowed in Baha'i religion, we used Sparkling Juice which we got last minute in the supermarket as I totally forgot about it. Thinking back I should hav prepared a more SPECIAL Beverage, not the ~RM8 each bottle from UNACO... which taste rather horrible hehehehhe...

Hubby was havin a hard time opening the bottle so I help abit HAHAHAHAH... which was really funny. I was glad hubby chose this white wedding gown that came with a crop jacket. Hubby thinks the jacket looks elegant. My flabby arms would b horrendous without the jacket.

With our parent looking on...

YAM SENG in 3 different languages...

The ever cheerful crowd...

Then my dad walked me down from the stage and gave me away for my 1st dance with hubby, who was waiting at the dancefloor...

Our 1st Dance to Finally Found by Honeyz (which was OUR song since uni time)

Then we asked people to join us at the dance floor... but u know lar M'sian, all veli SHY 1... but my parent, Bro & SIL joins us... finally SexyLips too... too bad nobody else wanna utilize the dance floor.

The followed by millions of PHOTOs again....

Those large flowers were given away to my MC (cousin Valerie & hubby), my Aunt who baked those pear biscuit, my MIL & my mum. I announced this before the event ended so that those "Granny" don't just pull out the flower and destroy a pretty bouquet of flowers.

Those smaller bouquet on top of our main tables were given away to friends that make this event such a memorable 1. The Ceramic Figurine & Candle Holder were also given away as gift to the guest, which was gone with-in minutes after the announcement was made.

The dinner ended by 8pm & all were dispersed by 8.30pm. It's a record I think for those that attend wedding which usually drag on until 10pm.

I'm feel so blessed that everything went OK and I had the time of my life & loving it till today when I think back. It was a BLAST!!!

Wedding Memories

MY OUR DREAM WEDDING came true 2 years ago today. I wanted it 2 b sort of traditional, but not too ma-fan. An event that don't take the WHOLE day. I'm lucky as my parent & in-law let US decided everything for the wedding (actually I did not ask them for their opinion, I kinda decide everything & just informed them). It went smoothly & I was so very very happy.

Everything was executed as planned in the HOTEL itself. No getting here & there & here & there. I get so tired by the usual wedding that I attend here where the make-up session start at the ungodly hour of 4 in the morning.

And I'm very proud of this wedding album that I compile...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1pm - Woke up pretty late as I did a last minute slide show until very very late. I checked-in at Hilton Hotel & let the make-up person did her magic... which I really do need!
Hubby had long hair that was PERFECT for this costume. The hat was a gift from MIL... but hubby's head is kinda too big... hehe
I loved my cameraman, Ah Fung... he managed to capture these magical moment...
Our hotel room #
A good luck KISS from DADDY!!!
The family portrait... in the background is my hand held bouquet of red roses... a gift from my mummy. She also bought 5 dozens roses that was used for the wedding ceremony centerpiece, the corsage for VIP, the flower basket rose petals and was all arranged by my florist without any extra charge.
Went for outdoor & indoor shoot at hotel as there was still time...
With my godparent & friends who came all the way from MELAKA!
The Chinese tea ceremony wedding started at 4pm at the Hilton Steak House (the tables & chairs were cleared out & replaced with 60 chairs line up nicely for the guest). The restaurant has BIG windows facing the hotel garden. I did not want the heat to kill me by having a Garden Wedding and the windows let me bring the garden into my wedding venue... I'm clever le...
Welcoming guests to the TEA Ceremony
More photos before the ceremony starts...
Serving tea to grandparents... receiving ang pau hehehe...
Serving tea to parents... the tea set is a gift from my parent, which actually is my parent's wedding gift from a friend from Germany. So technically the tea set is older than I am. It's a very elegant tea set.
Serving tea to hubby's Uncle & Aunts...
Serving to my side of relatives...
Siblings serving tea to us... our turn to give ang pau
Younger cousins took their turn too...
Me announcing to the guests that the Tea Ceremony has officially finished and to have some tea & coffee & cakes before the Bahai Wedding Ceremony start...
Hubby with his elder (left) & younger brother...
My cute flower girls & handsome ring bearers...
5pm All guest had arrived for the religious part of the Wedding Ceremony.
Ceremony started with prayers... read by my Dad's Sis & Hubby's Brother (who read from the Christian Scriptures)
My cousin Valerie read a beautiful Baha'i Marriage Tablet from the Bahai writings.
The exchange of wedding ring... right after reciting our own wedding vows... something along the lines of loving each other for the rest of our life...
and end with this: “We will all, verily, abide by the Will of God.” which is required in a Baha'i marriage. That was why we were holding the microphone.
Then we signed our wedding certificate... The gold pen is a gift from my dad... thanks daddy as I totally forgot to prepare a pen.
Then we supervised our witnesses, hubby's classmate & my friend, signing the document.
phew! The ceremony was over, hence the clapping & handshake! Thank god everything was smooth sailing.
We were officially married by 6pm... 2 years ago...
Wishing myself & hubby a Happy 2nd Wedding Anniversary!!!
and many many more to come!
I love you, hubby!
Niu Year Preparation!!!
Hubby was saying that 2009 will be a tough year so we will need all the LUCK in this world! And to help him obtaining this luck, he sought the help of a few ornaments used during CNY.
1st was this precious Shui Xien Hua aka "Water Fairy"... hahah direct translation cheena style!!! Hubby watered them everyday. In the morning once he is out from the bedroom, he walk straight to the balcony & look at them & willed them to grow higher!!!
These days, he has paid more attention to the plant than me! hmmppp!
2nd : The Lucky Bamboo, 8 stalks of them (my fav number). In Chinese spoken language, it sounds like "Fah" which means to grow, thrive. Hubby got the idea from Uncle Google to use Red Ribbons but I refused to help him as I though it would look ugly, but it turned out OK.
3rd : Cau Cai Jin Pau!
Let's moved on to my fav topic: The food!!!
The flowers were from my dearest mummy, pretty le?
The Chicken Pies & Quiches... yummilicious!!! These were made by Hallie. I also ordered a LARGE Chocolate Truffle Cake, the 1st cake to be wiped out.
The Quail Egg wrap with Streaky Bacon...
The Sausage Cocktail with Pineapple or Cherry Tomato & Capsicum.
Deviled Egg!! I got a lot of good feedback for this finger food **proud** My mum help me boiled 40 eggs and almost all were gobbled up to my surprise.
The Tuna Cucumber Boat!
All the 4 dishes above were my 1st attempt at making it & I myself would like to think it was a success **delusional** and people were asking for recipe, especially for Deviled Egg... hehehehhe
The Cheese Cake were awesome too... I ordered it from my mum's SIL. I'm lucky people around me are good at making yummilicious food, while I balance it out by being GOOD at eating food... kakakkaka. Thanks Daddy for cutting the cakes.
Got this from her too... home made PINEAPPLE Tarts are AWESOME! I got 3 different types, even got 1 with cheese le. I only buy CNY goodies that I myself like to eat.
The Fresh Cream Fruit Tart... with a chocolate base, I really loved these.
The Hong Kong Cake... or better known as Beehive Cake, another of my fav cakes. Going the healthy route, I served Carrot and Orange Juice for the guests. And special request for Coffee were popular too..
The popular Chocolate Truffle Cake... the last 2 pieces that I managed to store away in the fridge.
Our 1st evar CNY decoration item that we bought for our 1st open house 2 years ago...
The Lion Tissue Cover. It was a rare item at that time & only 1 store had it, selling for RM58. Nowadays, you can see this almost everywhere, 688, 100% or Green Gallery for less than half the price.
As it a moo-moo year, I place a lot of chocolate around the house like this BIG BOWL of Strawberry Cadbury Chocolate near the lion.
This post is making me very hungry... I'll continue after dinner...
Eve of Niu Yea
Dinner was at MIL's sister's home that started rather early, 5pm to be exact. We were warned to be early at least 3 times that day... and we were still late -_-"
I bought Yee Sang from Ta Kiong and was rather excited to be tossing this high and making my wish come true! As there are adults around... some of the wish cannot be said out loud lor
The BEFORE photo of the Yee Sang:
The AFTER photo...
The cute Esther...
Me, cute Esther and hubby's cousin, Deborah.
Some of the food that night...
As hubby's side of family is quite compact, the dinner comprise of both his parent's family members. Even with combined family members, it's only 15 people + 2 kids. It's a small family affair.
The cute handsome 4 months old nephew, Elijah was such a crowd puller...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Then we headed to our second dinner that start 7pm at my grandma's house at Kenyalang.
For my side of the family, the dinner time hav to b split up into a few sessions as there are too many people. My grandparents are very productive, producing a total of 11 kids.

Grandma insist on NO photo taking during that night at the house but we sneaked a few outside the house... havin fun!

Bro said I look the best like this...

My youngest bro William.

This is the 1st CNY without my grandpa. He LOVED fireworks! We watched a slide show of pass year CNY and wish he was here with us. We all miss you grandpa!

Well, at 1st my grandma deny all our request but little by little the rules were loosen & allowed to play with sparkler but not firecracker. One of my uncle got hold of hubby and ask him to light up 1 of the firework (in a huge box) in front of our neighbor place. My grandma came running out when she heard the noise, and every1 pointed to the neighbor... hahaha... like father like son... GRANDPA was always the cool 1, he would wear sunglasses & sit at his chair and enjoy the firecrackers, very near to him... hahaha... we all had to cover our ears, but not him. Might be bcoz he was half deaf lar... hmmm... sweet memories!

How was your Niu Year Eve???
